[Virtual Presenter] Hello and welcome to my year 8 Media presentation. My name is Delinda and today I will be analysing and evaluating how two different film posters use Media codes and conventions to represent ideas and show genre..

[Audio] Today I will be compering and analyzing the tow movie poster Harry Potter and Mean girls.

The title Is the biggest pice of text on the page it is placed towards the bottom of the poster so the audience can focus on the picture the have also used white and silver, so it is not bold and not the first thing you see when you look at the poster

At the bottom of the poster in small font is the production blurb which  include a tagline, the name of the director, names of characters, the release date, and other pertinent details to inform prospective viewers about the film.

The main image of the three main chataters is the most eye-catching thing on the poster it is the first thing that your eye go to when you look at the poster. This image make the poster memorable, which helps advertise the movie.

The secondary image on the page shows other images of things that re in the movie and one other character that is in the movie

Analysis of the movie poster Harry potter

The overall layout of the harry potter poster is effective because  the image on the poster is eye catching. And you can look at it and see all the little things that have been put on  the poster and it kind of gives you a little eye into what the movie is going to be about

[Audio] Harry Potter is a 2004 American film about a place called Hogwarts and all about fighting and house and this little game.

The movie harry potter is a very successful movie  franchise with eight movies and on an average 1 million people watching each movie. The poster helped make the movie gain viewers because it is the first thing people see even before the movie hit the big screens from the color to the layout that makes you look at it and think what the movie is going to be about for instinct the genre of the movie which is fantasy and adventure.

[Audio] Mean girls is an 2004 American film about bulling and school and a girl who joins the group of mean gift ls and loosers al of her friends then tries to get back on the main girl in the group.

[Audio] This slide shows an in depth analysis of each convention of the poster. I have spoken about the actress layout and the tag line. 

Scene 8

At the top of the page there is there is two names of the actress that play in the movie

There is not much of a main image but the one closest to you is a picture of one of the main character in the movie Wich is one of the actress up the top of the page

The background image is an image of one of the other sort of main character and some other characters in the movie

The tag line is short and simple but a very good reposition of what the movie is about all of them have sass and they are sharp as well and it helps with the advertisement

[Audio] This is my analysis of one of the posters mean girls here I talk about the overall layout of the movie poster. 

Scene 9

The overall layout of the Mean Girls poster is simple but affective the poster is very eye-catching towards a female audience because of all the pinks on the poster and the girl group. Cady portrayed by Linsay lohane is at the front of the poster because the movie is kind of all about her but also about a mean group of girls who like to pick on people.Beacuse it is eye catching it helps with advertisement

The Mean girl  franchise only has one movie but there is a remake but with completely different characters and actress the movie poster probably reached a lot more female viewers the males because of all the picks and the girl grope on the poster and going on that it would also probably be more interesting to teen more the adults and the "sassy and sharp" tag line in the poster would give you an idea of the genre comedy and

[Audio] What you see here is my evaluation and comparison of both posters. I made a final judgement here..

Both movies are very successful in in drawing audiences in to watch the movie when it hits the big screen but reach to complete different audiences with one being about fighting blood mystery and the other being about bulling girls shopping school
