Introduction. The main purpose of marriage is to extend the descendant. Islam enjoins its believers to have faithful, moral and compassionate children by choosing a pious spouse in the first place. Prophet Muhammad SAW also urged to marry and have many children so that the people of Muhammad will be more numerous. Moreover, the Gospel of Genesis in Christian says, "Be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth." The nature and character of God is to multiply life, whereas the nature and character of Satan is to multiply death. This obviously shows that marriage is the legal way to prolong the offspring..

Introduction. Marriage is an important thing in life because the husband or wife adheres to one person, namely their spouse, to have sexual intercourse. Without the existence of marriage, many problems occur. Marriage is the greatest form of human relationship because it demands responsibility from the both parties whether it is husband or wife and it also a form of agreement. Human relationship is the greatest among others because marriage is covenant or agreement between two parties that is not only strengthen the two parties individually but it also strengthening the relationship between the husband’s family and wife’s family. In principle, there are three sources of law for marriage to which Roman Catholics refer, especially in Malaysia: The Bible, the Code of Canon Law and the Law Reform (Marriage and Divorce) Act 1976. The main sources of law for marriage in Islam are the Holy Quran, the Sunnah and the enactment of each state. In general, the concept of marriage is similar in each religion, but there are major differences..

The definition of Nikah in Muslim. According to Imam Syafi'e , marriage was originally a covenant with which this covenant became lawful intercourse between boys and girls. In terms of syarak, it is a contract that specifies the rules and conditions that must be met in order to allow and legalize sexual intercourse. Marriage in Christianity. Symbol of noble love. The Christian marriage ceremony is rich in symbolism . The bride and bridegroom make promises to God and to each other, exchange rings ( as a sign of those promises ) under the presence of family and friends who act as witnesses . This implies that they are committed to each other through thick and thin f or the rest of their lives. Prayers are said for the newlyweds recognising the joys and difficulties ahead and asking for God’s support. (Romans 12:10).
