Scene 1 (0s)

Striving To Establish Deen is Farz.

Scene 2 (6s)

What is Farz or obligatory act?. The person who neglects to perform the Farz or obligatory act deserves to be punished.

Scene 3 (16s)

Is striving to estabish complete Deen, Shariah, Khilafat an obligation (FARZ)?.

Scene 4 (25s)

1. Quranic references talking on non-adherence to Allah’s Deen leads to punishment or strong words like kufr, shirk, zulm , no faith etc. are used which are punishable acts.

Scene 5 (37s)

1. References on non-adherence to Allah’s Deen leading to punishment.

Scene 6 (56s)

Baqarah ayat 85.

Scene 7 (1m 8s)

Baqarah ayat 85 cont.. The ayat is addressed to Muslims who believe in a part of the Scripture and reject the rest English translation: Source: Tafsir Ibn Kathir : Then do you believe in a part of the Scripture and reject the rest? Then what is the recompense of those who do so among you, except disgrace in the life of this world, And on the Day of Resurrection they shall be consigned to the most grievous torment Note: If your actions do not reflect what you claim to believe, then you are not believing with conviction from the bottom of your heart. You will not put your hand in fire because you believe with conviction that it is going to burn you. So, if you really believe, it will reflect in your action Current reality: Islamic scholar Dr. Israr says this ayah perfectly describes the state of Muslim ummah today. Though we are large in number globally, many Muslim countries are rich in terms of wealth and natural resources like petrol, we have no say in the international affairs. Those G 7 countries and US decide. Forget international, some key policies of Muslim countries are dictated by these countries. This is because we don’t have even a single country (not even in the countries ruled by Muslims) where Allah’s Deen is implemented in totality. It is there in few countries but only partially. The implications of acting partially is what is mentioned in this ayat - disgrace in the life of this world.

Scene 8 (2m 8s)

Maidah ayat 44, 45, 47.

Scene 9 (2m 33s)

Maidah ayat 44,45,47 cont.. Ibn Kathir writes in his tafseer that 'Ali bin Abi Talhah also stated that Ibn 'Abbas commented on Allah's statement "Whoever rejects what Allah has revealed, will have committed Kufr, and whoever accepts what Allah has revealed, but did not rule by it, is a Zalim (unjust) and a Fasiq (rebellious) and a sinner." Ibn Jarir recorded this statement. Current reality: Islamic scholar Dr. Israr says on this ayat that we are Muslims individually but a member of kafir nation because we are the residents of Dar ul Kufr, not Dar ul Islam. Dar ul Islam is a place where Allah’s Deen is established in totality at nation level and there is not even a singe Dar ul Islam today in the entire world though there are many countries ruled by Muslims. In this case, according to this ayat , we are kafir, zalim , fasiq nations and the kaffara (atonement) for Muslims living in these nations is to hate living in Dar ul Kufr because this system is against Allah’s system “Dar ul Islam”. The next step is to strive your best to change the kufr system to Dar ul Islam.

Scene 10 (3m 21s)

Maidah ayat 44,45,47 cont.. These ayats are addressed to Muslims also, not just Jews and Christians Some commentators have attempted to restrict the application of these verses to the People of the Book alone ( Jews and Christians). The verses, however, hardly lend themselves to such a restrictive interpretation. The best answer to such a restrictive interpretation has been given by the Companion Hudhayfah . When someone told him that these verses related merely to the Israelites, meaning that the unbelievers, wrong-doers and transgressors were only the Jews who passed judgement contrary to the injunctions revealed by God, Hudhayfah remarked: 'What good brothers these Israelites are to you! Whatever is bitter goes to them; whatever is sweet comes to you. Nay, by God, you will follow their way, your steps following theirs . ’ Source: Tafhim Ul Quran.

Scene 11 (3m 58s)

Nisa ayat 65.

Scene 12 (4m 25s)

Nisa ayat 65 cont.. 12. In the commentary of ayat 64, one ayat before this, in Tafhim Uul Quran, it is mentioned that Prophets are not sent so that people may pay lip-service to their Prophethood, and then obey whoever they wish. The purpose of sending Prophets is that people should follow the laws of God as brought and expounded by them rather than laws devised by man, and that they should obey the commands of God as revealed to the Prophets to the exclusion of the commands of others Note: We all know what is going to be the fate of non-believers on the day of judgement. Despite being Muslims, to what sources we are referring for judgement today – man made constitutions or Shariah?.

Scene 13 (4m 59s)

Maidah ayat 49, 50.

Scene 14 (5m 35s)

Maidah ayat 49, 50 cont.. Context and current reality: These ayats were revealed in the context of Jews who were trying to influence Muhammad ( s.a.w ) so that he can give decision in their favour on some matter. Jews of that time used to claim that they are Muslims because they believed that there is no God, but Allah and Musa is their prophet. They also believed Ibrahim was the prophet of Allah and many more. And yet they used to refer to the sources other than revealed by Allah for judgement. If we see the Muslim ummah today, we are following their footsteps - there is not even a single country ( not even in the countries ruled by Muslims) on the face of the earth where ALL matters are judged based on Allah’s shariah. At the end, in ayat 50, Allah says that people with firm faith (strong Imaan ) will turn to Allah’s Shariah for judgement, not other sources.

Scene 15 (6m 16s)

Maidah ayat 68.

Scene 16 (6m 43s)

Maidah ayat 68 cont.. Allah says to Jews and Christians in this ayat that you have no solid ground to stand unless you establish the Torah and the Gospel and all that had been revealed to you from your Lord. Current reality: Islamic scholar Dr. Israr says Allah’s sunnah doesn’t change from ummah to ummah. The same applies to Muslims. We have no ground under our feet unless we establish Quran and all that had been revealed to us from our Lord. He says this may be the reason behind Allah not answering our prayers because we have not established all that had been revealed to us in Quran even in a single country ( not even in the countries ruled by Muslims) . Millions of Muslims across the world pray during Hajj for peace and prosperity of Muslim ummah but we don’t see our prayers get answered.

Scene 17 (7m 20s)

Yousuf ayat 106,40.

Scene 18 (7m 39s)

Yousuf ayat 106, 40 cont.. Read these two ayats in combination. Ayat 106 is addressed to the believers (Muslims). It says most of the believers in Allah are engaged in some form of shirk. Ayat 40 says sovereignty belongs to only Allah . One of the attributes of Allah is Al Hakam meaning “the One who always delivers justice, in every situation, to everyone. Nothing happens in creation except by His authority and decree. Al-Hakam never wrongs anyone and is never oppressive. He is the only true Judge; no one can overturn His judgement and no one can ever appeal His decree”. Current reality: Islamic scholar Dr. Israr says today most of us live in secular or democratic countries which means people decide what is halal and haram, and they judge as per their own rules. We vote and elect people for this job due to whatever reasons. Coming to countries like Saudi where kingship is there, they are also doing the same. For example, they have made interest halal, one of the most strictly prohibited things in Islam. Aren’t we doing shirk by doing so? Aren’t we associating others in Allah’s divinity “Al Hakam” attribute based on two ayats ? Firaun used to do the same. He used to tell I am the ruler of Egypt ( Misr ), I will decide what is halal and what is haram, I will judge as per my rules. The only difference is that Firaun was one person then while today it is group of people..

Scene 19 (8m 40s)

Yousuf ayat 106, 40 cont.. The way forward: Dr. Israr says we are Muslims individually but a member of kafir nation because we are the residents of Dar ul Kufr, not Dar ul Islam. Dar ul Islam is a place where Allah’s Deen is established in totality at nation level and there is not even a singe Dar ul Islam today in the entire world though there are many countries ruled by Muslims. The kaffara (atonement) for Muslims living in these nations is to hate living in Dar ul Kufr because this system is against Allah’s system “Dar ul Islam”. The next step is to strive your best to change the kufr system to Dar ul Islam.

Scene 20 (9m 9s)

Imran ayat 85, 19.

Scene 21 (9m 36s)

Imran ayat 85, 19 contd.. 21. English translation: Source: Tafhim -ul-Quran: The true Deen with Allah is Islam. The People of the Book (Jews and Christians) adopted many different ways rather than follow the true way of Islam even after the knowledge of truth had reached them, and this merely to commit excesses against one another. Let him who refuses to follow the ordinances and directives of Allah know that Allah is swift in His reckoning Current reality: It’s time for us Muslims to introspect ourselves by replacing Jews and Christians in Surah Imran ayat 19 and evaluate where we are standing today.

Scene 22 (10m 9s)

Nisa ayat 97-100. Ayat 97: While taking the souls of those who were engaged in wronging themselves, [1] the angels asked: 'In what circumstances were you?' They replied: 'We were too weak and helpless in the land.' The angels said: 'Was not the earth of Allah wide enough for you to emigrate in it?’ [2] For such men their refuge is Hell - an evil destination indeed ; Ayat 98: except the men, women, and children who were indeed too feeble to be able to seek the means of escape and did not know where to go Ayat 99: maybe Allah shall pardon these, for Allah is All-Pardoning, All-Forgiving.

Scene 23 (10m 40s)

Nisa ayat 97-100 contd.. [1] . The reference here is to those who stay behind along with the unbelievers, despite no genuine disability. They are satisfied with a life made up of a blend of Islamic and un-Islamic elements, even though they have had the chance to migrate to the Dar al-Islam and thus enjoy a full Islamic life. This is the wrong that they committed against themselves. What kept them satisfied with the mixture of Islamic and un-Islamic elements in their life was not any genuine disability but their love of ease and comfort, their excessive attachment to their kith and kin and to their properties and worldly interests. These concerns had exceeded reasonable limits and had even taken precedence over their concern for their religion see also( n. 116 )above). [2] . Those people who had willingly acquiesced to living under an un-Islamic order would be called to account by God and would be asked: If a certain territory was under the dominance of rebels against God, so that it had become impossible to follow His Law, why did you continue to live there? Why did you not migrate to a land where it was possible to follow the law of God?.

Scene 24 (11m 29s)

Nisa ayat 97-100 contd.. Ayat 100: He who emigrates in the way of Allah will find in the earth enough room for refuge and plentiful resources. And he who goes forth from his house as a migrant in the way of Allah and His Messenger, and whom death overtakes, his reward becomes incumbent on Allah. Surely Allah is All-Forgiving, All-Compassionate [3] It should be understood clearly that it is only permissible for a person who believes in the true religion enjoined by God to live under the dominance of an un-Islamic system on one of the following conditions. First, that the believer struggles to put an end to the hegemony of the un-Islamic system and to have it replaced by the Islamic system of life, as the Prophets and their early followers had done. Second, that he lacks the means to get out of his homeland and thus stays there, but does so with utmost disinclination and unhappiness . If neither of these conditions exist, a believer who continues to live in a land where an un-Islamic order prevails, commits an act of continuous sin. To say that one has no Islamic state to go to does not hold water. For if no Islamic state exists, are there no mountains or forests from where one could eke out a living by eating leaves and drinking the milk of goats and sheep, and thus avoid living in a state of submission to unbelief. Scene 36 (15m 38s)

Forbidding evil is part of faith ( Imaan ). Abu Sa‘id al- Khudri reported that the prophet Muhammad said, "Whoever amongst you sees an evil, he must change it with his hand. If he is not able to do so, then with his tongue. And if he is not able to do so, then with his heart, and that is the weakest form of faith" Reference: Sahih Muslim, hadith 49a.

Scene 37 (16m 0s)

Punishment for not forbidding evil. Imams Tabarani , Bayhaqi and Daylami ( rahimahumullah ) have recorded on the authority of Sayyiduna Jabir ( radiyallahu’anhu ) that Rasulullah ( sallallahu’alayhi wasallam ) said: ‘Allah Ta’ala instructed an angel to destroy a particular city. The angel said: ‘Indeed therein is a certain slave of your’s who has not disobeyed you even for the blink of an eye.’ Allah Ta’ala replied: ‘Destroy him and them, for he didn’t frown [at their disobedience] for my sake ever.’ Reference: Al- Mu’jamul Awsat , Hadith: 7661, Shu’abul Iman, Hadith: 7189 & Al- Firdaws , Hadith: 519. Also see Majma’uz Zawaid , vol.7 pg.270 Imam Bayhaqi ( rahimahullah ) has stated that this is more correctly reported as a statement of Malik ibn Dinar, and not a Hadith of Rasulullah ( sallallahu’alayhi wasallam ). It should therefore be attributed to Malik ibn Dinar ( rahimahullah )..

Scene 38 (16m 37s)

Araf , ayat 163 to 166. English tafseer : Source: Tafhim -ul-Quran: It talks about the people in a town were of three categories. One, those who flagrantly violated God's commands. Two, those who were silent spectators to such violations and discouraged those who admonished the criminals, pleading that their efforts were fruitless. Three, those who, moved by their religious commitment, actively enjoined good and forbade evil so that the evil-doers might make amends. In so doing, they were prompted by, a sense of duty, to bring back the evil-doers to the right path, and if the latter did not respond to their call, they would at least be able to establish before their Lord that for their part they had fulfilled their duty to admonish the evil-doers. So, when the town was struck by God's punishment, only the people belonging to the last category were spared for they had displayed God-consciousness and performed the duties incumbent upon them. As for the people of the other two categories, they were reckoned as transgressors and were punished in proportion to their crimes.

Scene 39 (17m 24s)

Anfal, ayat 25. English translation: Source: Tafsir Ibn Kathir : And fear the Fitnah (affliction and trial) which affects not in particular (only) those of you who do wrong, and know that Allah is severe in punishment. Tafseer : Allah warns His believing servants of a Fitnah, trial and test, that encompasses the wicked and those around them. Therefore, such Fitnah will not be restricted to the sinners and evildoers. Rather, it will reach the others if the sins are not stopped and prevented There are various hadiths supporting this statement recorded in Ibn Kathir’s tafseer of this ayat ..
