WESTRACE Application Data. The WESTRACE hardware is controlled by the Application Data. The Application Data is the combination of the system configuration and a set of boolean logic statements that define the working of a specific WESTRACE interlocking ..

Scene 20 (4m 2s)

Westrace System and Safety advantage. WESTRACE MkII is a safety critical, processor based railway signalling system. It is generally used for interlockings. It is a suitable for passenger and freight railways and has been independently certified to meet the stringent safety principles for this equipment. WESTRACE MkII : Advange meets world Safety Integrated Level 4(SIL 4). features modularity; is easy to maintain; is robust, and; Has cost advantages over conventional interlockings (Reduction in use of relays based interlocking) The system encompasses all of these features but safety is foremost. WESTRACE equipment is suitable for safety critical applications. Each WESTRACE module uses a 2oo2 (2-out-of-2) safety architecture. Modules use two processing or hardware paths with separate processors. Both paths must agree before an active input will be accepted or an active output driven. Modules that generate different states are automatically shut down. The only impact that failure or removal of a module has on the interlocking is the absence of it’s associated inputs and outputs. The interlocking continues operation..
