What is a welBMS battery sensor ?. welBMS Battery Sensor is a smart device of a battery (single/pack/system) responsible for advanced monitoring, management and optimization. welBMS Battery Sensor plays a role as the CPU of the battery which monitors the voltage, internal resistance, current and temperature and optimize the battery so that it can work efficiently, durably and safely..

. How has the battery sensor been developed?. Welgun’s team has developed the battery sensor for a battery management system (BMS) in order to meet the requirements from Electricity of Vietnam Company (EVN) since 2019 for battery management systems at their high voltage switchgears..

Welgun’s  team has developed the battery sensor for a battery management system (BMS) in order to meet the requirements from Electricity of Vietnam Company (EVN) since 2019 for battery management systems at their high voltage switchgears.

At the present, we have fully finished the R&D process and prototyped with hard wares as well as the soft-wares (IoT platform).  In which, there are advanced and patentable features: 		 Single cell voltage balance                                     By-pass function (filing for the patent) 		 Internal resistance meter (filed and pending for patent) 		 Anti-sulfation  		 Wireless assembly & connection (by IoT)

What are the outstanding features of welBMS sensor?

Through ourself advanced balance, welBMS battery sensor actively regulates the float charging current of each battery ensuring that all batteries charge at the optimal voltage. Continuously monitoring and balancing the individual charging/float voltage of each battery enables the full capacity of the entire battery system to be available at all times.  welBMS battery sensor actively manages batteries to increase reliability and extend life, whereas other battery monitoring systems simply monitor batteries as they deteriorate.

2. By-pass to protect the batteries from mass death

Our patentable bypass function to help stationary battery systems not to be shut down unintentionally by bypassing any dead cell in the battery system. It’s very important to protect the battery system.

Internal resistance is the key parameter to present the battery health. Our patentable function can measure exactly the internal resistance at m Ω  range. Especially, It can apply online when the batteries in operation that less competitors’ solutions can do.

4. Anti-sulfation to increase battery life

Sulfation occurs when a battery is deprived of a full charge, it builds up and remains on battery plates. When too much sulfation occurs, it can impede the chemical to electrical conversion and greatly impact battery performance. welBMS battery sensor can generate electrical impulses against the sulfation then reverse it. This function could not be found from other competitor’s products.

5. Wireless assembly & connection (by IoT)

welBMS battery sensor is an compact IoT-based device. As it is wireless-connected. The battery temperature sensor is also integrated and it does not need a separate power supply wire, instead  it is from that battery.  It could not be found from other competitor’s products.
