[Audio] Location: Africa Geography's Significant Roles and Impacts Geography's Significant Role Geography plays a significant role in Africa. Africa has many landforms and climates such as deserts, rainforest, savannas, mountains etc. These all-impact agriculture, wildlife, and the way of life for different communities. Clean water is a major issue in Africa. Dirty water can contain harmful bacteria, parasites, and pollutants Impact on People Women and children must walk long distance to gather clean water. This affects their ability to go to school, have jobs, and overall have a life. Intaking uncleaned water can cause waterborne diseases such as cholera, dysentery, and diarrhea. This is also an issue for women and girls who are pregnant or have menstrual cycles, not being able to properly cleanse can cause infections. Impact on Religion Africans used water in some of their rituals such as purification and healing. "Water is life, after all, and therefore sacred." Geography influences the understanding of sacred, the performance of rituals, the connection with ancestors and the spiritual connection to the land and natural environment..

The type of humanitarian aid is needed and will be provided: Clean water will be provided as well as Aquatabs (water purification tablets). The types of service projects your team will be engaged for distributing this aid: We will be fundraising money to build water treatments in different locations along with building water towers. The anticipated results of your humanitarian relief effort: 29% of African doesn't have access to purified water, which is about 353 million people. Our goal is to the remaining 29% of the total population the purified water they need.
