Each team tries to make the ball touch the court within the opposing side’s playing areas before it can be returned. [Audio] Movements Spiking is when a player hits the ball with their palm sharply over the net into the opposite court. While spiking all ten of the listed muscles are used. Setting is an overhead pass to the hitter so that they can spike the ball. Like serving setting also uses every muscle. Passing is when a player hits the ball directed at another player on the same team. The muscles used are quads, glutes, hamstrings, and calves. These muscle are also used in blocking.
