John Paul Construction have been appointed PSCS for this exciting project which consists of initial site investigations and enabling works and the follow on construction infrastructure work for Rosslare Europort Terminal 7..

[Audio] The works will be carried out on a phased basis while the daily Port Operations are ongoing and are not to be disrupted. The project works include extensive civil groundworks, demolition, R C Construction, roofing ,cladding , M E P services & systems including testing and commissioning. The works will be executed within The Port of Rosslare for our client the OPW and Irish Rail. The port is fully operational and will remain so for the duration of the works which is scheduled for completion in November 2025..

[Audio] Rosslare Europort is now Ireland's number one port for direct Freight and Passenger services to Europe. In addition, Rosslare Europort has announced plans to establish the port, its hinterland and the south-east region as Ireland's Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Hub, with the potential to create up to 2,000 jobs. The Clients representative for this development is the OPW and they have a significant representation on site – something we need to remember as we conduct our daily activities and work tasks. This first phase development realises a value of €157 M – additional phases still to be awarded. The potential for all parties is significant – so the First Impressions we create in front of the Client and their representatives on the site is of critical importance..

[Audio] Entry to the site for cars and light vehicles will be over the Kilrane railway bridge (Off Station Road) Park in the site car park on arrival. Reverse parking only. Complete the familiarization induction – minimum requirements will include a current Safe Pass and Manual handling. CSCS cards for other disciplines. Complete the Induction record form ensuring all questions are answered. You will then receive an induction badge and name tag for your helmet. A car ID badge will be provided for security and access to the site. Then you will need to complete face recognition registration for access through the turnstiles. You should then contact your company Supervisor to complete your approved Method Statement and Risk Assessment briefing and sign off ..

[Audio] On completion of the induction your supervisor must brief your team on the John Paul approved Method statement and Risk assessment and you must sign-off as having attended and understood this briefing. If any changes to your work methodology are identified during the works – the task should be paused and the RAMS updated and signed off again. John Paul Construction management must be advised of the change in the work approach. Daily White board meetings are held each evening with exception to weekends to plan the next days work, identify and prepare your work permits, including high risk permits and to coordinate deliveries interaction with other contractors on the site. Please note any high risk work on the site requires the completion of a high risk workshop in advance. Plant deliveries must be planned in advance, G A ones provided where required and lift plans developed and approved for lifting operations. Delivery procedures for materials and equipment must be included in the RAMS..

[Audio] The Port operates 24 hours 7 days a week Significant traffic movements through the site from the ships to the trailer storage area in Kelly's Field. Port Traffic has right of way at all times. Speed limit on the main haul road is 20 KPH Plant Movements – there are significant numbers of heavy plant on site. You must be vigilant and remain on designated walkways. Lifting Operations – all lifting operations on site must be approved by JPC AP. This includes lifting using excavators. Inclement Weather – barrier management, signage management, materials storage management. Housekeeping – Strictly clean as you go housekeeping policy – applicable to laydowns and work areas..

[Audio] Site incidents, accidents and dangerous occurrences must be reported immediately to your Supervisor and John Paul Construction as the site PSCS. First Aid is available across the site and coordinated from the Main Site Office. To support the John Paul Construction emergency and first aid response please download the What 3 words app to your phone. This app provides your exact location on the site in the event of an emergency which facilitates a quick response from the Emergency Response Team. In the event of Fire Alarm in the Main Office building immediately leave the building using the emergency exits and make your way to the assembly point on the west side of new carpark. The site emergency evacuation assembly point is located in the Main Office carpark.
