Design Thinking for Social Innovation Course Project

My name is Dr. Preeti Patil and I'm excited to be working with Mohammed Azharuddin Sheikh Arvind Bishnoi Ganesh Pawar, Kannika Kulkarni, Deepika Khade and the entire class of 1901, 1920, 1922, 1925, 1927 this semester at CEER, KLE Technological University in Hubballi. [Audio] PTSD, or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, is an anxiety disorder that occurs after a traumatic event. It can present as intrusive thoughts and flashbacks, difficulties sleeping, and changes in mood. Despite being a common disorder, it is often misunderstood and goes unrecognized due to associated stigma, as well as inadequate awareness and education. We aim to eliminate the stigma surrounding PTSD and facilitate greater understanding of the disorder..

[Audio] PTSD is an issue that affects individuals worldwide, causing depression, anxiety, sleep deprivation, and in extreme cases suicide attempts. We must identify and protect those affected by this disorder by providing them with effective help and support. Additionally, it is important to be cognizant of the wider social implications of this issue. Our objective is to develop a solution that aids the 32.4% of people suffering from PTSD without creating any negative consequences. This is a significant challenge, but by tackling it we can make a real difference in the lives of those affected..

[Audio] Our presentation's last slide describes the various stakeholders in the design thinking for social innovation course project. The main stakeholders are the patients and their families managing post-traumatic stress disorder. The secondary stakeholders are psychiatrists and non-governmental institutions aiding the patients. The tertiary stakeholders include government agencies, insurers, and pharmaceutical firms associated with this course assignment.
