Scene 1 (0s)

[Audio] Shown are the identified deficiencies or inadequacies of the Armor Division regarding materiel. (CLICK) Capability mismatch to the evolving nature of Modern Threats. The mismatch between the existing Armor capabilities and the evolving nature of modern threats and challenges renders the Armor assets vulnerable to new threats and less effective in addressing Asymmetric threats. (CLICK) Beyond service life use of existing Armor assets. The continued use or repurposing of our aging armored vehicles involves a balance between risk and reliability and requires a thoughtful and comprehensive approach to balancing cost-effectiveness with operational effectiveness. While extending the service life of existing armor assets may be economical, our military planners might want to simultaneously work on phased replacement strategies to be adapted to modernize our strategic land assets to effectively address evolving threats. (CLICK) Lack of Heavy Equipment Transporter (HET) that is needed to transport our Light Tanks. The absence or insufficient number of Heavy Equipment Transporters can severely impact the mobility and deployability of our assets. These vehicles are essential for rapidly transporting our Light Tanks and other heavy equipment to and from operational areas, training grounds, or strategic locations. (CLICK) Inadequate Tank Gunnery Simulator. Tank gunnery simulators are critical tools for training Tank Crews in various skills, including target acquisition, gunnery techniques, and coordination among crew members. These Simulators are crucial for providing a realistic and controlled environment where crews can practice and hone their fighting skills without the need for live-fire exercises. An inadequate simulator may hinder the effectiveness of tank crew training. (CLICK) Addressing or closing these materiel capability gaps is essential for the Armor Division to help maintain a strong and credible land defense posture. It is also essential in safeguarding the interests of the nation, deterring potential adversaries, and to effectively respond to the ever-changing global security landscape. (CLICK).
