All words in the English language belong to a group. All the groups belong to a family known as Parts of Speech

Places

Places such as restaurants, schools, and any other buildings (places) have names = Noun! Think about the school you go to and where you live, the shops you go to… these all have names don’t they?

Animals

Just like we as humans have names, animals belong to a certain group which is their ‘name’. You know an animal's name by looking at a picture or hearing a sound the animal makes . By listening to these sounds, you can guess the NAME of the animal.

Any object that has a name is a noun. If you can name the object, it is a noun. Later you will learn the different types of nouns.
