[Audio] Social Media Impact Social media platforms are online services that allow individuals and organizations to create, share, and exchange information and ideas in virtual communities and networks. Examples include Facebook, X, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Public Health Awareness Public health professionals can use social media to disseminate information quickly, engage with the community, and raise awareness about public health issues. Public Health and Environmental Justice Concerns The primary public health concern is the emission of pollutants, such as dioxins, heavy metals, and particle matter, which can contribute to respiratory and cardiovascular disease among the local population. These emissions can negatively impact air quality and health. The environmental justice (EJ) Issue centers on the disproportionate impact of pollution from the incinerator on low income and minority communities living nearby. These populations often face higher exposure to environmental hazards. And have less access to resources to mitigate the health impacts..
