[Audio] PROJECT DETAILS Our client is the Institute of Education (IOE) part of University College London. Our works form part of the Phase 2 Masterplan redevelopment plans for UCL. The project consists of the refurbishment of the main reception area and central staircase as well as Cores A&B with new MEP infrastructure throughout the cores and Plantrooms. We will also be undertaking the refurbishment of the Core A "wings and nibs" levels 9 to 5 and the Woburn restack project Zone C Levels 5, 6&9. The works in general will provide a number of large, flexible teaching, office and social learning areas as well as new WC facilities throughout Cores A&B..

[Audio] SITE LOGISTICS Access/egress for people is via the Service Road at Thornhaugh Street The site is open from 7:30am to 6pm Deliveries booked in via UCL Logistics (complete form) Materials and equipment are to be dropped off in the service road and taken to the Overbury site demise Storage for materials to be agreed with Overbury Management prior to delivery No parking on site.

[Audio] WELFARE The Site office is located on L3 Core A (Clarke Hall) Operatives welfare (Changing Room, Canteen & Toilets) are located in cabins to the rear of Woburn Square Smoking is not permitted on site including e cigarettes and we ask you not to smoke within the boundaries of the UCL Campus. The smoking area is located within the Cabins demise Battery charging station are located in the changing room within the welfare area PLEASE ASSIST US IN KEEPING FACILITIES CLEAN AND TIDY.

[Audio] NOISE RESTRICTIONS There are noise restrictions on the Project Noisy works are only allowed before 9am, between the hours of 1pm-2pm and after 5pm. The campus is a live university environment, so please consider all operatives when carrying out any noisy works. In addition audio equipment radios or use of headphones are not permitted on site..

[Audio] MINIMUM PPE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS SITE Safety helmets to BS EN397 (Bump Caps are not acceptable) Safety footwear with reinforced toe caps and mid sole reinforcement to BS EN345 High visibility vests to BS EN471 Suitable hand protection in the form of Safety Gloves (to a minimum of BS4343 EN345).

[Audio] Additional PPE Depending on your task and approved method statement you may be required to wear additional PPE: Eye Protection such as goggles or full face visors Wrist and Arm protection (gauntlets or wristlets), working in ceiling voids Ear protection (ear defenders/plugs) Respiratory protection (face masks), wood working, rubbing down, COSHH Fall protection (harness with fall restraint or Fall arrest lanyards) Overalls.

[Audio] EMERGENCY PROCEDURES In the event of fire the alarm; Proceed to the assembly point at the top of the service road opposite the SOAS Brunei Building via the fire routes shown on the Site plan. Overbury Management will run through roll call. Only return back onto site once instructed by Overbury Management Following this induction please take the time to familiarise yourself with routes and exits. [Audio] INCIDENTS/ACCIDENTS All incidents must be reported to Overbury Site Management immediately this includes: When anyone has been injured not matter how small Any near misses, this is anything that could have resulted in an accident Ensure any injuries are entered into the accident book which is kept in the site office The First Aiders for this project are: Luke Bassett Dean Howe Sid Oliveria.

[Audio] HOUSEKEEPING Materials to be stored on racking or pallets in the dedicated areas Do not block access routes or fire exits Clear up any waste generated as you go Be respectful of other trades work on site When moving materials or equipment around the site. Loads on A frame trollies to be secured with straps when moving. Arrange for materials in your way to be moved rather than 'making do'.

[Audio] ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT Overbury is committed to recycling don't waste materials. Re-use where possible Always place your waste in the correct bin which are signed as displayed. Don't forget to check to see if it needs to go in hazardous waste bin We also provide spill kits on the floor next to the fire pints.

[Audio] ASBESTOS A refurbishment/demolition survey has been carried out: By Lucion on behalf of UCL. This can be found in the Site Office. All operatives must have attended an asbestos awareness course to be allowed to work on this site and provide a in date training record..

© 201 5 O verbu r y 34. However should you come across any material that you suspect as containing asbestos Stop work immediately make sure the area is secure. Report to Overbury Site Management Uncontrolled Asbestos Disturbance: If previously identified/ newly identified ACM is disturbed all work should cease immediately and the OPERATIVE(S) SHOULD GO TO THE CLOSEST SAFE PLACE. DO NOT MOVE FROM THAT SAFE PLACE. If suspect ACM has been disturbed, contact y our site supervisor who will contact the Overbury Site Management team, who will assist with evacuation of the area and prevent anyone from entering if possible i.e. by fencing off the area, locking doors to rooms, displaying signage etc. Special consideration must be given to ACM disturbed in open riser shafts, Plant rooms (Tops of blockwork walls) , air inlet shafts, ventilation ducts & shafts, etc. together with the management measures that must be adopted to control a potential fibre release in these work areas. Those potentially exposed should move away from the immediate area containing the suspected ACM, but DO NOT go straight to the site office/ welfare area where they could spread potential contamination. Instead they should move a minimum distance of 5m away from the discovery and where possible, remain in the work area. 5. Overbury will follow company Policy in dealing with incident..

Discovered materials that could contain asbestos? Stop work immediately! Keep everyone else out of the area Report the problem to the person in charge as soon as possible Put up a warning sign 'Possible asbestos contamination' Damaged materials that could contain asbestos? Stop work immediately! Is there dust Or debris on clothing? Arrange a sample OR to be analysed Does it contain NO YES presume it contains the worst type of asbestos Apply the appropriate controls, using a Contractor if i red Update the asbestos management plan A little, eg dust on sleeves/ shoes Wipe down with damp rags NO action required A lot, eg contaminated clothes, hair, footwear Stay put, avoid inhaling dust. put on RPE if possible, damp Wipe outer clothing if possible, then remove outer clothing before moving away from source. Seek help. Helper to put on PPE and RPE before entering area Damp wipe all contaminated items: clothing (as necessary), footwear and skin/hair until visually clean. Decide if need to wash hair and shower Put contaminated clothes, towels etc in a plastic bag and dispose of as asbestos waste Dispose of rags as asbestos waste and keep a record of the event Decide if the work needs a licensed contractor.

As the main point of contact for health and safety representing your firm You will be required to: Carry out MS/RA briefings, copies of which will have to be issued to Overbury and ensure that operatives are following them Carry out weekly tool box talks and issue signed registers to Overbury Ensure all your operatives have the correct PPE before they start work Ensure all your operatives follow the Overbury site rules Be a first aider or have appropriate cover within your team.
