[Audio] PROJECT DETAILS Our client is the Institute of Education (IOE) part of University College London. Our works form part of the Phase 2 Masterplan redevelopment plans for UCL. The project consists of the refurbishment of the main reception area and central staircase as well as Cores A&B with new MEP infrastructure throughout the cores and Plantrooms. We will also be undertaking the refurbishment of the Core A "wings and nibs" levels 9 to 5 and the Woburn restack project Zone C Levels 5, 6&9. The works in general will provide a number of large, flexible teaching, office and social learning areas as well as new WC facilities throughout Cores A&B..

© 201 5 O verbu r y 34. However should you come across any material that you suspect as containing asbestos Stop work immediately make sure the area is secure. Report to Overbury Site Management Uncontrolled Asbestos Disturbance: If previously identified/ newly identified ACM is disturbed all work should cease immediately and the OPERATIVE(S) SHOULD GO TO THE CLOSEST SAFE PLACE. DO NOT MOVE FROM THAT SAFE PLACE. If suspect ACM has been disturbed, contact y our site supervisor who will contact the Overbury Site Management team, who will assist with evacuation of the area and prevent anyone from entering if possible i.e. by fencing off the area, locking doors to rooms, displaying signage etc. Special consideration must be given to ACM disturbed in open riser shafts, Plant rooms (Tops of blockwork walls) , air inlet shafts, ventilation ducts & shafts, etc. together with the management measures that must be adopted to control a potential fibre release in these work areas. Those potentially exposed should move away from the immediate area containing the suspected ACM, but DO NOT go straight to the site office/ welfare area where they could spread potential contamination. Instead they should move a minimum distance of 5m away from the discovery and where possible, remain in the work area. 5. Overbury will follow company Policy in dealing with incident..

Keep everyone else out of the area Report the problem to the person in charge as soon as possible Put up a warning sign 'Possible asbestos contamination' Damaged materials that could contain asbestos? Stop work immediately! Is there dust Or debris on clothing? Arrange a sample OR to be analysed Does it contain NO YES presume it contains the worst type of asbestos Apply the appropriate controls, using a Contractor if i red Update the asbestos management plan A little, eg dust on sleeves/ shoes Wipe down with damp rags NO action required A lot, eg contaminated clothes, hair, footwear Stay put, avoid inhaling dust. put on RPE if possible, damp Wipe outer clothing if possible, then remove outer clothing before moving away from source. Seek help. Helper to put on PPE and RPE before entering area Damp wipe all contaminated items: clothing (as necessary), footwear and skin/hair until visually clean. Decide if need to wash hair and shower Put contaminated clothes, towels etc in a plastic bag and dispose of as asbestos waste Dispose of rags as asbestos waste and keep a record of the event Decide if the work needs a licensed contractor.
