Then, she became a naturalized U.S citizen. She was married by the flight instructor Jean-Pierre Harrison. Then, she was licensed to fly multiple engines and land airplanes. Then, she was certified as a flight instructor. Then, in 1994 she was selected for the training of an astronaut.

Kalpana Chawla’s first space mission lasted for 15days, 16 hours and 34 minutes. Kalpana Chawla travelled 252 times around the Earth. The distance was of 10.45 million. The price of launch pad was 56 million dollars.
