[Audio] The Miracle Sun, Episode 5 of 5; the final episode; How the Sun works: The Sun is a vast sphere of hot, ionized gas which is called plasma rather than a solid body which exhibits a fascinating phenomenon called differential rotation: different parts of the Sun rotate at different speeds depending on latitude and even depth at the visible surface called the photosphere The equator completes one full rotation in about 25 days. Higher latitudes rotate progressively slower, taking up to 33 to 36 days near the poles. This means the equator regions "lap" the polar regions over time, stretching and twisting magnetic field lines embedded in the plasma, which plays a key role in generating the Sun's powerful magnetic field and driving the 11-year solar cycle of sunspots, flares, and activity. Magnetic fields running through the Sun's plasma link different layers and latitudes, controlling how fast they spin. In a special boundary layer, the Sun rotates at different speeds, which twists the magnetic fields into tight, circular coils that power the solar generator. [Audio] What is Plasma? It is the fourth state of matter—essentially a superheated gas in which electrons have been stripped from their atomic nuclei, creating a sea of positively charged ions and free electrons. This ionized state makes plasma electrically conductive and highly responsive to magnetic and electric fields, unlike neutral gases. On the Sun, nearly all matter exists as plasma due to the extreme temperatures: from about 10,000-degree Fahrenheit at the visible surface (photosphere) to millions of degrees in the core and corona. The photosphere, the layer we see as the "surface" of the Sun, is composed of this dense, turbulent plasma, primarily hydrogen (about 74% by mass) and helium (24%), with trace heavier elements. The Sun's surface (called the photosphere) doesn't have clouds like we see in Earth's sky. But when you look at it through a telescope or special filter, it looks far from smooth, it's textured, bumpy, and constantly moving, almost like it's alive. Here's what creates that interesting look: The whole surface is covered in a pattern that looks like a bunch of bright little rice grains or a honeycomb. Each bright spot (called a granule) is about 600 miles wide. Hot plasma rises in the bright centers, cools a bit at the top, and then sinks back down in the darker spaces around them. It makes the Sun look like it's gently boiling or bubbling, and these spots appear and disappear every few minutes. Dark sunspots look like little smudges or "zits" on the Sun. They're cooler spots where super-strong magnetic fields stop the hot plasma from rising freely. Around many sunspots you also see brighter patches (called plages) that add extra contrast and make the surface look even more patchy and interesting. If you look at the whole Sun, the middle looks brightest, while the edges look dimmer and a bit reddish. That's because we're seeing straight down into hotter layers in the center, but near the edges we're only seeing the cooler, shallower layers from the side. All these features—bubbling granules, dark and bright magnetic spots, and the brighter center—come from hot plasma moving around, the Sun spinning at different speeds in different places, and its powerful magnetic fields twisting and guiding everything. Instead of a plain, boring yellow ball, the Sun looks more like a huge, rolling, ocean made of fire. This intricate plasma behavior is no accident. He who spoke light into existence filled it with ionized gas governed by precise physical laws, convection, and magnetic forces to radiate steady light and heat while displaying endless variety and power. The mottled, granular beauty of the photosphere, visible even in simple solar telescopes, declares His glory without ceasing (Psalm 19), reminding us of the greater Light: Jesus Christ Himself, "the light of the world", who sustains every star and every soul. What an awe-inspiring masterpiece of divine creativity.

[Audio] The Sun lights up our whole solar system and keeps Earth warm enough for plants, animals, and people to live. The Sun loses a tiny bit of mass in other ways: through something called the solar wind. This is a constant stream of charged particles (mostly protons and electrons) blowing out from the Sun's outer atmosphere at speeds of about 400 miles per second (that's really fast!). It carries away roughly 1 or 2 million tons of mass every second. These two things, fusion making energy and solar wind blowing particles away, show how active and powerful the Sun is. It gives us light, heat, weather, and helps all life on Earth. The Sun also has invisible magnetic fields that make cool things happen, like dark sunspots, huge loops of hot gas (called coronal loops), and sometimes big explosions that send particles our way, causing beautiful auroras. These show how creative and orderly God is—even in something invisible like magnetism that powers the Sun's activity. The same Sun that lights our days points us to Jesus, who called himself the "light of the world" His light gives us not just warmth for our bodies but hope and life forever. How awesome is God's creation.

[Audio] Approximately every 11 years, the Sun undergoes a predictable polarity reversal that signals the transition between solar cycles . This process, driven by the Sun's internal dynamo, involves the magnetic North and South poles swapping positions near the peak of solar activity. Leading up to this solar maximum, magnetic phenomena like sunspots, flares, and coronal mass ejections become significantly more frequent and intense. As the maximum passes, the global magnetic field weakens and gradually reorganizes into its new orientation over several months or years. Once the flip is complete, solar activity typically declines toward a quieter solar minimum, characterized by fewer eruptions and a more orderly magnetic field. Even in its quiet minima and explosive maxima, the Sun declares the Lord's unchanging faithfulness and creative genius, reminding us of the greater Light: Christ Himself, "the light of the world".

[Audio] Solar flares are among the solar system's most powerful explosions, representing sudden, intense releases of magnetic energy in the Sun's atmosphere . They originate near sunspots in the corona, where twisted magnetic fields undergo reconnection, snapping and breaking apart to release stored energy. This process heats plasma to over 10 million Kelvin or 18 million Fahrenheit and releases radiation across the spectrum, including X-rays and ultraviolet light. Traveling at the speed of light, this electromagnetic radiation reaches Earth. Accompanying many, but not all, flares are coronal mass ejections , which are massive expulsions of plasma. Unlike the immediate radiation, these CMEs travel much slower, taking 15 hours to several days to reach Earth. What an extraordinary display of power! He who spoke light into existence, sustains these tremendous eruptions as part of the Sun's life-giving cycle, influencing space weather, auroras, and Earth's protective magnetosphere. Even in these explosive outbursts, we see echoes of His sovereignty: the same magnetic energy that can disrupt satellites also drives the solar wind and cosmic rays that shape our cosmos. This supersonic outflow expands far into space, pushing against the local interstellar medium to create a vast protective bubble known as the heliosphere. Enveloping the entire solar system, this bubble extends over 100 astronomical units, that's 100 times 93 million miles and possesses a complex shape influenced by solar activity and galactic motion. The heliosphere serves as a crucial shield by deflecting and modulating high-energy galactic cosmic rays originating from violent cosmic events. Without this barrier, these dangerous particles could easily damage DNA, threaten astronauts, and disrupt electronic systems throughout the solar system. [Audio] The question now between creation and evolution is, how the Sun came into existence? trillions on trillions on trillions of Hydrogen atoms the simplest and lightest element in the universe and now 73% of the mass of the sun, It's colorless, odorless, and highly buoyant, about 14 times lighter than air and disperses quickly when released and that's why hydrogen-filled balloons float. In the vacuum of space, however, its behavior changes dramatically In interstellar space, hydrogen exists in extremely low densities often just hundreds of particles per cubic centimeter. So how did the lightest element in the universe make the sun? evolutionist say that the sun started from a big explosion, and gravity pulled it together. In short: a pure-hydrogen Sun would be packed with roughly (1.2 times 10 to the 57 power) individual hydrogen atoms that are spread out in the universe. That's an insanely huge number — about 10 to the 20th power times more atoms than there are grains of sand on all Earth's beaches, doesn't that sound ridiculous! After that question being that large of an area of hydrogen atoms how could gravity had started with the atoms so spread out, they would all just float away. That's what happens when you start a big lie, like evolution, you must keep making up more big lies. Ultimately, this is no accident. Scripture reveals the true origin: Our Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Word, spoke the heavens into existence, "In the beginning was the Word, All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made". He who declared "Let there be light" and set the Sun in the firmament to rule the day and give light upon the earth, crafted the physical laws, the initial conditions of the universe, Hydrogen gas under gravity, the ignition of fusion, the precise abundance of hydrogen, these are not random; they are the orderly outworking of His sovereign design.
