Hello everyone! Thank you for attending this privacy training. As all of you are aware, Data privacy is becoming quite a big thing in Singapore. In 2012, Singapore establish the Personal Data Protection Act, PDPA, which is governed by the PDPC (Personal Data Protection Commission). They started with the Do Not Call registry, and throughout the years, the Act has become more comprehensive and covers a much wider scope. Nowadays, we often see news of companies violating Singapore’s Privacy laws, and having to pay severe consequences, regardless of whether the violation is purposeful or unintentional.   For the past 2 years, RTX has also ramped up our efforts in beefing up the policies and practices relating to privacy, and this general awareness training is a start to kick off the privacy program within Singapore.
