Related Studies. The difficulties posed by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) was that the educational gap is anticipated to expand as a result of COVID-19's requirement that schools use remote learning for three main reasons. First, access to the internet and the gadgets required to take online courses is more limited in poorer households and distant or excluded areas and regions. Consider the sizable portion of Rohingya people in the Chin and Rakhine areas of Myanmar who do not have access to remote teaching and learning via the internet, mobile devices, television, or radio. Second, a one-size-fits-all approach tended to develop as a result of the speed and haste with which remote learning resources were created. It was necessary to exclude vulnerable children who require specialized learning resources, such as items that support people with impairments or resources in local languages. Last but not least, the teaching approach was predicated on the notion that students' homes would be favorable learning environments. For many children, especially those from low-income households, the home environment is not conducive to learning for a variety of reasons, not the least of which are widespread gender stereotypes and expectations that demand girls to care for younger siblings or do housework..
Related Studies. The National Education Association holds that children need to have access to technology, instruction in its proper usage, and both. In order to assure their technical literacy, students need also have access to the Internet as well as parity in training, funding, and participation. The Association also considers it crucial for access to knowledge to be free from barriers related to geography, the economy, society, or culture. The Association also thinks that usage of the Internet should be controlled, age-appropriate, and should encourage critical thinking..
Related Studies. Rural schools in the United States have a varying level of technology utilization in the classroom. In comparison to their metropolitan rivals, the United States occasionally falls short in financially and online Gaining access (Greenhow et al., 2021). Rural schools could struggle due to isolation and a lack of resources. Compared to metropolitan colleagues, they have more difficulty using technology. This means that there could be important distinctions. Urban and rural classrooms differ in their usage of technology and its effects. Cooper and Ewing (2012)..
Related Studies. According to Pool, Reitsma , and Mentz (2013), adequate technology training for teachers in South Africa concentrated on the use of technology by teachers as subject matter experts. Teachers can then build acceptable pedagogical techniques to integrate technology after the connection to the subject matter has been made..
Related Studies. The United States Department of Education (2010) stated “technology is at the core of virtually every aspect of our daily lives and work, and we must leverage it to provide engaging and powerful learning experiences and content” (p. ix). However, prior research suggests well-placed intentions and increased connectivity do not necessarily prepare teachers for successful technology adoption (Blanchard et al., 2016). This issue is particularly common in rural communities, especially those located in high-poverty settings, with large numbers of underrepresented students. This lack of effectiveness creates an opportunity gap which further limits achievement levels of disadvantaged students (Harris & Hodges, 2018)..
Related Studies. Kubota, Yamamoto, and Morioka (2018) offered a very accurate depiction of ICT in two schools in the Philippines. Its strength lies in the specific details that aided a thorough knowledge of the situation in suburban and rural located schools. It also gave plausible solutions that might be investigated in order to tackle the difficulties highlighted..
[Audio] And these are the related studies in local studies..
Related Studies. According to DepEd data from 2020, 1,562 schools still had no electricity connection, while 39,335 schools required electrical connection upgrades. The survey also discovered gaps in ICT access, particularly in terms of unfulfilled delivery targets for computer packages—the focus of the ICT developmental objective in the Philippine basic education sector. "Unlike many neighboring countries that have already achieved universal access to computers and the internet for their schools," Navarro added, "Philippine schools have low computer and internet access rates.".
Related Studies. In terms of audio materials utilized in teaching, respondents reported employing microphones, speakers, compact discs, and lapel mics. Visual resources such as tarpapel and flashcards were classed as camera, projector, laptop, and mobile devices. As a result, the use of current materials facilitates meeting the educational objectives. Furthermore, it was discovered that the following factors prevent teachers from utilizing modern materials: a lack of adequate resources for using modern materials; a non-conducive classroom environment; the inability to provide equal opportunity to enjoy modern materials in all classes; the short life span of modern materials; and the difficulty in responding to modern activities and lessons from the internet and other interesting references..
Related Studies. The use of technology into the learning process opens up new possibilities. Nowadays, Computers do have several characteristics that, when utilized correctly, can help students learn through the department's mission, teachers, and students. are responsible for facilitating learning and continuously nurturing each learner on numerous levels appropriate techniques (Tuazon, 2019)..
Related Studies. Would having existing content make a difference in the current environment of remote learning, where many Filipino children do not have access to technology at home anyway? Our study cannot address that question, but because earlier research found a faster transition to remote learning where digital content, particularly the usage of learning management systems, was already available, we included a few content markers in the index..
Related Studies. The Department of Education ( DepED ), which began in 1996, undertook an initiative that would equip all of the nation's public secondary schools with computers. supporting the DepED's annual line budget of 110 million pesos, including contributions from the governments of The DepED Computerization Program not only covers countries like Japan and the Republic of Korea connectivity, as well as technical training, teacher professional development, and strategy planning and content development..
Related Studies. The application of mobile learning in distant parts of the Philippines. His research has discovered that mobile learning can be a significant tool for education in these places, as it can offer kids with access to educational resources that would otherwise be unavailable to them (Dela Pena, E. C. 2015)..
