CONTENT. The coin is round having a diameter of 33mm and 2.17 mm thick. It has a reeded edge. The obverse side of the coin features the bust of Dr. Jose Rizal, with PISO engraved at the top, a number of 1 at the back of the head, and the name Jose Rizal at lower right of Rizal’s head . The reverse bears Country’s name, the mintage year, and the issuing bank. It also has the country’s coat of arms, which feature the eight-rayed sun of the Philippines with each ray representing the eight provinces which were placed under martial law during the Philippine Revolution (1896-1898.).
