In the Philippines, a parallel education system known as the Alternative Learning System (ALS) gives out-of-school youth and adult (OSYA) learners the chance to improve their functional and basic reading skills as well as access comparable pathways to finish their basic education.  ALS includes both informal and non-formal sources of knowledge and skills, making it a strong contender as a replacement for the current formal education system. is a program for second-chance schooling. It aims to equip OSYA students with the knowledge and skills they need to continue their education in a way, at a time, and place that suits their preferences and circumstances, enabling them to improve their quality of life and contribute positively to society.

This includes both basic literacy skills and macro skills: which entails employing critical subject-matter understanding while reading, writing, speaking, listening, and watching. The particular aspect and consideration play a significant role in improving the caliber of instruction for ALS learners. The alternative learning system uses a subject-centered curriculum..

The student must show that they comprehended the speech and dialogue. The learner should be able to organize ideas and build knowledge. Simply understanding and learning how to start a conversation and understanding the learner's familiar phrases is one of the objectives of this curriculum design dimension and aspect..

The learner is the main consideration in the creation of the curriculum. However, the process of developing curriculum and putting it into practice generally ignores the voice of the student. I believe that is a means of enhancing student learning. I go over various historical viewpoints on curriculum philosophy that emphasize the importance of student voice. These initial justifications for student engagement will be based on the main or most important educational goals that encourage students to actively participate in the development of curriculum.

Since students actively participate in the curriculum, the instructor must consider student input while deciding how and what to teach. It will be vital to also outline some of the obstacles to including student opinion in order to balance out this conversation. I'll wrap up with thinking about where educational system stands right now in terms of student involvement.
