Marty (Continued). Academics: He is usually polite and tries to work. Scaffolding does work but, there are issues with retention. Marty has a current grade of 62% in class due to suspensions, outbursts and incomplete work. Marty has trouble completing the work assigned to him and has tutoring support for reading and math but, cannot keep up with the demands of his classes. Marty also seeks attention either positive or negative and can be destructive and threatening when he goes into crisis as part of his personality disorders..
What has been done….. Marty has a current IEP that stresses: preferential seating, positive feedback, clarification of instructions, the need for graphic organizers and guided notes additional time for tests and projects He has completed a one page essay that was scored at a 75% and was given additional time for completion but, due to behavioral issues in the cottages (All students live on campus) and at school he has had previous restrictions from coming to school and has not completed handouts or asked for assistance as outlined in his IEP..
