[Audio] Vacation Planning: Mars Exploration by Sarah Welde.

Page 2 (8s)

[Audio] Have you ever wanted to visit mars? Now is your chance! Mars is the fourth planet from the sun coming just after earth. Mars is the most explored body in our solar system to date. Mars gets its name from the ancient Roman god of war..

Page 3 (27s)

[Audio] Mars itself has 2 moons, Phobos and Deimos, "The moons names come from the horses that pulled the chariot of the Greek god of war Ares (which Roman counterpart is Mars.

Page 4 (42s)

[Audio] A day on mars is almost the same as one on earth (24 hours and 37 minutes), "Martian days are called sols - short for "solar day". Mars' size is about half the size of Earth..

Page 5 (58s)

[Audio] The temperatures on Mars are usually similar to that of Earth, "If you were to stand on the surface of Mars on the equator at noon, it would feel like spring at your feet (24 degrees Celsius) and winter at your head (0 degrees Celsius)." The atmosphere is not at all breathable and is considered toxic to humans, due to its high percentage of carbon dioxide. However there is a fix for this! MOXIE or the "Mars Oxygen In-Situ Resource Utilization Experiment" which is an experiment that will help give information and "learn if we could use Mars' thin carbon dioxide atmosphere to manufacture oxygen to not only breath, but to also use as fuel.".

[Audio] Mars is an excellent place to vacation, many opportunities and activities to engage in. Explore the longest valley/canyon in our solar system. The valley, Valles Marineris, is measured at about 200 miles in length and at its deepest is 4.3 miles..

[Audio] Hike these trails and experience the little water flow on Mars travel down hillsides..

Page 8 (2m 12s)

[Audio] Climb the largest dormant volcano, Olympus Mons, which at its highest is 25 miles..

Page 9 (2m 23s)

[Audio] Experience the seasons, similar to Earth, on Mars.

Page 10 (2m 31s)

[Audio] watch out for it occasional strong winds! Can reach up to 100 miles per hour, however the thin atmosphere makes it so the wind does not exert the same amount of force that would be felt on Earth. This planet is also home to dust devils, which are whirlwinds that can lift and transports dust across the surface..

Page 11 (2m 53s)

[Audio] Stay in a Habitation system which include amenities like; life support, environmental monitoring, radiation protection and so much more!.

Page 12 (3m 6s)

[Audio] This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, NASA is already planning to house astronauts here to explore the surface of Mars through human experience instead of through cameras/rovers. This planets weather is close to that of earth's and not to mention the days are about the same as Earths' so vacationing here would not need too much adjustments. Other travel includes jetlag and such, but Mars there is no time adjustments needed..
