[Audio] Social Justice and work Societal inequalities are everywhere so every profession has an interest in understanding social justice. The legal profession, specifically attorneys should care about social justice and often take the lead in bringing about social changes. Attorneys work in many areas that are on the frontlines of social justice. During the 2020 protests of the murder of George Floyd, individuals wearing bright green hats were highly visible among the protesters, and Legal Observers from the National Lawyers Guild, an organization dedicated to "Mass Defense" and "Activist Support" by providing legal support for political activists, protesters and movements for social change. The National Lawyers Guild works in the areas of Immigration, National Police Accountability, Environmental Justice, Prison Reform, and supporting Labor and Employment movements (nlg.org, 2023). Attorneys work every day to fight against discrimination, defend Constitutional Rights, and resolve complicated issues..
