ALL Workers and Visitors are to sign IN and OUT daily upon arrival on site & must sign onto Site Daily Prestart.

[Audio] PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) All PPE must comply with an appropriate Australian Standard and shall be worn where required. HEARING PROTECTION: - The Code of Practice for Hearing Protection allows for a maximum noise exposure for each worker of 85 dB (A) over an 8-hour period. Note – the majority of power tools, including the likes of circular saws, vacuum cleaners, angle grinders etc have noise levels over 85 dB (A). Hearing protection should be used when using ALL power tools. FIRST AID – Located in the Site OfficeAll persons requiring first aid treatment are required to contact the site office personnel who will administer any necessary treatment and record the incident in the record book provided. Injured person/first aid office is to complete register of injury in the event of any incident. Refer to site accident and emergency procedures. FIRE PREVENTIONAppropriate fire extinguishers must be on hand for each welding set and Oxy acetylene set brought on site, and also placed in strategic locations throughout site. Use of Fire extinguishers for anything other than fighting fires will result in instant dismissal from site. They are NOT amusement devices WORK AREA / HOUSEKEEPING Must be kept clean and tidy from rubbish and other hazards. Rubbish must be cleaned up promptly. All protruding nails will be removed from timber..

[Audio] ACCIDENTS All incidents shall be reported immediately to the Site Manager along with any dangerous occurrence. Any employee, who is absent from work for more than seven ( 7) days associated with any dangerous occurrence, will require a Workcover Authority Accident Report to be completed and submitted to the Workcover Authority by his/her employer. A copy of the report must be provided to the Site Manager within six ( 6) days of the accident occurring. SAFETY HELMETS Shall be worn by all supervisors, employees and visitors in designated areas; such areas will be signposted and/or barricaded. Site Induction stickers are to be prominently displayed to the chest area or on hard hats. FOOTWEAR Safety footwear (Steel capped) must be worn at all times. Bare feet, thongs, flimsy or unsuitable footwear is prohibited..

[Audio] GLASS CONTAINERS Are not allowed in construction areas and must be confined to the lunch room(s) only. DRUGS AND ALCOHOLThe consumption of drugs and alcohol on this site is prohibited during working hours. Persons suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be refused entry to the site. SMOKING IS NOT PERMITTED IN THE LUNCH / TOILET SHEDS OR WITHIN ANY BUILDING.Hypodermic syringes found on the site are to be removed using a robotic hand, and/or with gloves on, do not touch the needle with bare hands. Remove the syringe to the Site Office and place in the sharps bin provided. An appropriately licensed contaminated rubbish remover will remove the sharps bin..

[Audio] EXCAVATIONS / PENETRATIONSContractors are responsible for ensuring any trenches or holes created are made safe and protected using suitable and adequate means. All excavations more than 1.5 metres deep in OTR must be shored or benched CONSTRUCTION PLANT The following control measures are implemented and are to be observed in respect of moving Plant on this project. Moving Plant includes Excavators, Dozers, Cranes and the like. A dedicated spotter is assigned to each item of Plant; in the case of the dozer there are two spotters; There is a five- ( 5) metre exclusion zone that applies to persons who must work near the Plant; If you need to approach the Plant closer than the 5 metres zone you MUST identify yourself to the Plant spotter, who shall then attract the attention of the Operator; and Approach the Plant only when acknowledged by the Spotter / Operator..

[Audio] WORK AT HEIGHT Any person having to perform work more than 1.8 metres above working level must complete a Working at Heights Permit. A ticketed Scaffolder's must erect scaffold over 4 metres in height. All scaffold tube to be 4.0mm diameter minimum. Works at height can occur via: Scaffold Boom lift Scissor lift ELECTRICAL SAFETY - If an accident/ emergency happens on site, notify the First Aider or Site Foreman- All electrical fittings to comply with AS 3000 wiring rules;- All temporary electrical fittings must be fitted with an earth leakage device / residual current device, i.e. Portable generators;- All plant and equipment must be checked monthly (eg. distribution boards)as per Code of Practice;- A licensed electrician must check amenities, site office every three months;- A register detailing all inspections will be maintained and kept in site office;- All fittings to extension cords to be either non-re-wirable (moulded) or transparent;- All leads and power cables to be supported above any work area or passageway to provide clear access for personnel and vehicles. Power leads are not to be joined; Only approved portable multi-boards are to be used. No double adaptors/ piggy back plugs will be used; andEvery core balance earth leakage device on site must be trip tested monthly and subjected to a calibration test by a licensed electrician every three months. Records will be maintained on an Electrical Inspection Register..

[Audio] HAZARDOUS CHEMICALS A library of Safety Data Sheets ( SDS's) is held at the First Aid station (in Site office). Hazardous materials supplied by Subcontractors to site are to have a SDS provided and registered so the site SDS library can be updated. Hazardous chemicals include items such as paints, glues, acids, cements, detergents etc. RADIOS The playing of radios on this site is considered a safety and environmental ( noise) risk, NO RADIOS ARE TO BE LISTENED TO ON THIS SITE CONSULTATION ARRANGEMENTS – SAFETY RESOURCESA Site Noticeboard is provided outlining site consultation arrangements and important information on the WHS Act 2011, Return to Work procedures and information for injured workers, general site safety rules, Eloura policies on safety, environment, Quality and Workplace Bullying. In addition, copies of all Codes of Practice and other relevant industry safety information are available from the site team. Additional information if required can be provided by the Site Manager..

Details Required: Location of accident/emergency Type of injury/emergency Severity of injury/emergency Will the authorities (i.e. ambulance) be required? All injuries must be reported to the above for a record to be made in the register of injuries book via Hammertech If Site Office is unattended or First Aider is unable to be located Telephone " 000" state authority required, i.e. Ambulance. Name of building/site. Specific location of entry. Site telephone number. Whilst waiting for the authorities, make sure the employee is not moved unless there is a higher risk of being injured. Send an employee to the front gate to alert the authorities of access to location..

[Audio] In the event of a fire or other emergency, notify the Site Foreman' Where a site evacuation is required, a horn will be raised by the Site Manager / Site Foreman. If a fire is discovered on the site, try, and contain it with fire extinguisher located on site. Do not place yourself at risk. If the fire is uncontrollable, notify the Site office. Then proceed to give details of locations of fire. The type of fire, the extent of risk or size of fire. Slowly proceed to the Site office making sure all staff is off the floor by verbally directing staff. Site office will inform all staff of evacuation procedures. If Site Office is unattended Telephone " 000" state authority required, i.e. Fire brigade. Name of building/site. Specific location of entry. Site telephone number. Assembly point is to the north of the site, to the (refer site plan). The Site Manager will undertake a head count of personnel list forthwith. Do not return to site until the Site Manager gives an all clear.

[Audio] Any dispute in relation to Work Health and Safety will be resolved in accordance with the relevant legislation applicable to the State where the dispute has been raised. Where a safety problem arises, the matter shall be brought to the attention of the Supervisor in charge of the area or task. The Site Manager will, where possible, organise to have the matter rectified immediately. Where required the Project Team will arrange for all employees affected by the safety problem to be relocated until the necessary rectification work is complete. Should a dispute arise over a safety issue, an immediate inspection will be undertaken of the disputed area by the Project Management Team. Where the dispute involves a subcontractor their Supervisor and safety representative (where nominated) will also be present. If the matter cannot be resolved the matter shall be referred to the Director for resolution. Where there remain any disagreements in relation to resolving the dispute the matter may be determined by an Inspector from the local Statutory Authority..

In the event of environmental contamination all incidents are to be reported immediately to the Site management All contaminated materials shall be removed and placed in contamination skip as located on the Site Safety Plan.
