Moses asked God, what he was to tell the Israelites, if they ask him what Gods name was. Here, Gods reply to Moses was “I AM WHO I AM’ . It was a powerful and a direct answer. And it was not “I am who you want me to be”. God is always who He is. The name God provided His people denotes Gods uncaused, independent and eternal character. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Many a times, we have a preconceived notion of who God is and how we want Him to be. We want Him to do this, act in a certain way or even run with us like how we want Him to. Worse, we already started loving those ‘gods’ and do not want to come out of that bubble. Finally, when the reality crushes us, we are angry at His silence or strange responses. TO HAVE THE BEST AND THE RIGHT RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD, IT IS MOST IMPORTANT TO SEE GOD AS HE IS AND NOT WHAT WE THINK OR FEEL HE IS. HE IS “I AM WHO I AM ”- SUPREME< SOVEREIGN AND SOLE CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE; SO THE BEST THING WOULD BE TO TAKE HIM AT HIS WORD AND SEE HIM AS HE IS!!.
