When in the vicinity of Forklift trucks it is essential to ensure that the driver and pedestrian make eye contact before the pedestrian can move on. Any access other than the Side Door must be arranged with the Area Supervisor or Charge Hand and all vehicle movements require isolation. Flammable substances mixing with air can create a potentially explosive atmosphere and not adhering to safety protocols can result in explosions oxygen and ignition of fuels potentially leading to confinements. Do not bring any contaminated personal protective equipment (P-P-E--) into the canteen area. 5. Emergency Response.
[Audio] If an emergency alarm is activated it is critical to exit the building quickly. When the alarm is triggered the turnstiles will switch to free-flow mode and the glass barrier will open without needing to be swiped. It is of utmost importance to evacuate the building quickly and safely to ensure everyone remains safe..
[Audio] Before entering our building you will need to record your name and company in the Security log to receive a card. The card must stay with you at all times and will be needed to open the turnstiles. A record is kept of everyone on site and in the event of an alarm activation you must make your way quickly to your Security muster point or the R&D car park. When arriving at these points please hold your card up to the reader until it beeps. Your trainer will show you all assembly and muster point locations after your induction..
[Audio] Upon arrival at the site all personnel must register with Security and provide information including their name and company. Personnel must also sign out each time they leave the site. Following the induction by the trainer personnel should be aware of the assembly and muster points locations in the event of an emergency. Should an emergency occur personnel must immediately report to Security and wait for their name to be called..
[Audio] The Henkel sites in Tallaght and Ballyfermot will have their weekly alarm tests this week. On Wednesdays an alarm will sound for a short duration at 12pm in Tallaght. Similarly on Thursdays at 12pm in Ballyfermot an alarm will also sound for a brief time. In the event that the alarm lasts for more than 15 seconds it is an authentic alarm and everyone should evacuate the building..
[Audio] Henkel Dublin is committed to emergency preparedness having an Emergency Response Team (E-R-T--) in place to guarantee the safety and wellbeing of its employees customers contractors and visitors. The E-R-T is comprised of 18 members qualified through specialised off-site and on-site courses divided into 3 groups with 3 reserve members. In the event of a serious incident at the site the Incident Management Team (I-M-T--) is the senior management team responsible for managing it. The I-M-T implements the Emergency Response Plan (E-R-P--) for such occurrences. [Audio] When a spillage of chemicals or hazardous materials occurs on site it is important to take the necessary steps. If safe to do so and the hazards are known then it is possible to try and deal with it oneself. Beforehand Safety Data Sheets should be checked to ensure the right protective equipment is worn. Furthermore the area should be cordoned off to protect nearby personnel. It is important to note that all spillages must be reported immediately..

[Audio] "When an activity is considered to be of high risk safety measures must be taken to ensure that the safety of everyone on the premises is not compromised. This includes the use of Authorised Work Permits also known as A-W-P-s-. A-W-Ps provide structure and an audit trail when undertaking high-risk work ensuring that only qualified personnel are allowed to carry out the task and that they have the right resources to do it correctly and safely.
[Audio] All work must be covered by an Authorised Work Permit or A-W-P which must be discussed and determined with a Henkel Supervisor before any work starts. The A-W-P is valid for up to one day or 24 hours in atex areas or five days in the Tallaght plant without weekends. It is essential that a review and signature of the A-W-P is made daily with the Henkel Supervisor Area Approver for each area affected by any work the Work Acceptor and S-H-E Department in the case of high risk work. It is very important that no work should be carried out until a fully signed-off A-W-P is in place under no circumstances should any high risk work be done alone..
[Audio] Work permits for any worksite must follow specific criteria. If any activity falls outside of the initial permit's scope or if the risk assessment changes the permit becomes invalid. Additionally the permit is no longer valid if the work goes beyond the permit's time frame or in the case of a true emergency. Active Work Permits must be displayed on the permit board at Ballyfermot EBF and Tallaght. A copy is to be kept at these same places. The work area should be cordoned off and signs should be put up to warn workers. Lastly all necessary checks and precautions must be taken in compliance with relevant MS CRA and S-P-A regulations..
