International day for Biological Diversity[IDB] is  Celebrated every year May 22 nd  globally. The day was  Declared by United Nations[UN] to raise awareness And increase understanding of  biological issues.

Biosphere reserves provide protection against plants,wildlife and to human communties also.

Biosphere reserves may also contains other protected  areas in it.

Panchmarhi  Biosphere Reserve was established for  The protection and preservation of wildlife in the  Year 1999 by Indian Government.

Panchmarhi  Biosphere reserve spans across 3 districts Of Madhya Pradesh that is Hoshangabad,Betul,and  Chhindwara.

Panchmarhi  Biosphere Reserve is a prominent   Part of Satpura Range.

The  Panchmarhi  Biosphere Reserve contains  Other Protected areas such as a Satpura National  Park, Bori wildlife sanctuary and Pachmarhi wildlife  Sanctuary.

The  government of India designated the area of  Panchmarhi  Biosphere reserve on the basis of  Recommendation made by Environment Planning and Coordination Organization[EPCO].EPCO is an advisory body To the Government of  Madhya Pradesh.

The total area covered by the reserve is 4926  Sq km.

This reserve is great of archaelogical value too .  There   Are numerous caves here that have been  Inhabited by local tribes and settlers time again, Increasing the historical value.

Many rivers and streams flow through the reserve Area but most prominent source of water is  Tawa Reservoir .

More than 511 villages can be found in and  Around the Pachmarhi Biosphere reserve.

Almost every year scouts and guides people  visit This place as ‘panchmarhi  camp.
