Research topic for Biokinetics and why I should be considered for this program

Topic?. When I first considered applying for Biokinetics the first topic ideas that came to me were aimed at endurance athletes. My father is a long-distance runner and I ran cross country in high school, so endurance-based sport/exercise interests me. My topic that I’m thinking of exploring is Recovery of high-performance athletes or endurance athletes. This would venture into recovery times and techniques, what types of athletes recover faster, etc..

When I first considered applying for Biokinetics the first topic ideas that came to me were aimed at endurance athletes. Why me?. I believe I should be chosen and would be perfect in this honour’s program because I am eager to learn and expand my knowledge on how exercise can improve people’s quality of life, as well as rehabilitate injured athletes/people. I am currently working at Zone Fitness in Bellville and feel that the experience that I have received from working at the gym also benefits me in this regard. On a daily basis I work and experience new people with different fitness goals, ailments and workout routines. What that taught me is that everyone’s goals are different and specific exercises won’t necessary work for everyone. It has also showed me how members with chronic diseases or injuries can use exercise as a tool to recover and improve their quality of life..
