Targets for Extended Producer Responsibility and Obligations of Producers, Importers & Brand-Owners: 25% in 2021-2022 Eligible Quantity in MT sh all be the average weight of plastic packaging material (category-wise) sold in the last two financial years plus average quantity of pre- consumer plastic packaging waste in the last two financial years minus the annual quantity supplied to the brand owners in the previous financial year. 100% in 2023-2024 Eligible Quantity in MT shall be the average weight of virgin plastic packaging material (category-wise) purchased and introduced in market in the last two financial years plus average quantity of pre- consumer plastic packaging in the last two financial years. The Extended Producer Responsibility targets for the Producers, Importers & Brand-Owners shall be determined category-wise. Only those plastics, which cannot be recycled will be sent for end of life disposal such as road construction, waste to energy, waste to oil, cement kilns (for co processing) etc. as per relevant guidelines issued by Indian Road Congress or Central Pollution Control Board from time to time..
