[Audio] The title of the presentation is "Trust and Power as Drivers of Information Sharing and Visibility in Supply Chains.".
[Audio] The presentation follows an agenda that covers the introduction, research background, the methodology, proposed model and final conclusions..
[Audio] The study examines the influence of trust and power on information sharing and visibility within supply chains. While the role of trust has been widely explored, the impact of power remains insufficiently understood. The research also aims to assess whether information sharing and visibility contribute to overall supply chain performance..
[Audio] Trust is a fundamental factor in effective supply chain management, enhancing collaboration and information sharing between partners. High levels of trust enable open data exchange, improve coordination, and reduce risks such as delays or excess inventory..
[Audio] Moreover, technologies like blockchain and ERP systems can strengthen trust, leading to greater efficiency, visibility, and competitiveness across the entire supply chain. Trust improves information sharing and overall supply chain visibility. So the authors proposed the following hypotheses: H1: Trust has a positive effect on information sharing in supply chains. H2: Trust has a positive effect on visibility in supply chains..
[Audio] Power is a key element in supply chain relationships, reflecting one party's ability to influence another's actions and often arising from resource imbalances between partners. It can drive or constrain information sharing by determining what data is exchanged and with whom, sometimes through pressure from more dominant members. Since visibility is an outcome of effective information sharing, the study explores whether power also impacts supply chain visibility. Based on this rationale, the following hypotheses are proposed: H3: Power has a positive effect on information sharing in supply chains. H4: Power has a positive effect on visibility in supply chains..
[Audio] Information sharing involves the timely and accurate exchange of data among supply chain partners, enhancing collaboration, transparency, visibility, and overall performance. Closely related to this is visibility, which concerns tracking the flow of materials and information across the supply chain to ensure transparency. Recent studies emphasize visibility's growing importance, highlighting its role in improving agility, planning, and performance while identifying barriers to its effective implementation. The analysis of the studied contexts of information sharing and visibility in the supply chain allows formulating the following research hypotheses: H5: Information sharing has a positive effect on visibility in the supply chain H6: Information sharing positively affects supply chain performance H7: Visibility positively affects supply chain performance.
[Audio] The study used the Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing technique among Polish manufacturing companies employing at least 10 people. After data verification, 276 valid responses were obtained. The results were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling..
[Audio] The questionnaire incorporated multiple-item measures for each construct, which were developed based on previous studies. A seven-point Likert scale was applied to evaluate items in the questionnaire..
[Audio] All constructs in the measurement model were reflective and assessed for reliability and validity. The results showed that all outer loadings were significant and above 0.708, and Cronbach's alpha values confirmed strong internal consistency. Additionally, the average variance extracted (AVE) values exceeded 0.50 for all constructs, demonstrating satisfactory convergent validity..
[Audio] The findings reveal that trust positively influences both information sharing and visibility, while power significantly affects only information sharing. Furthermore, information sharing enhances visibility and, together with visibility, positively impacts supply chain performance. Even though information sharing is strongly related to visibility, the effect of power on visibility was not positively verified.
DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION. e C 20 125. Key Findings: Trust → positive impact on information sharing and visibility Power → positive impact on information sharing, no effect on visibility Information sharing & visibility → improve supply chain performance Contributions: Extends understanding of power-trust dynamics in supply chains, fills a research gap on their role in information sharing and visibility Limitations: Sample: Polish manufacturing firms, mostly large companies, limited generalizability and self-reported data Future Research: Explore power’s effect on visibility further Compare across different industries and firm sizes.
