Scene 2 (7s)

Hello everyone My name is Rosy and I am a friend of Srinithi. I am here to teach you a delicious recipe . Now let’s see about the recipe..

Scene 3 (21s)

The delicious recipe is falafel. Falafel is a traditional Middle Eastern food , commonly served in a pita , which acts as a pocket, or wrapped in a flatbread known as taboon ; falafel is made from ground chickpeas or fava beans, herbs and spices. The mixture is then formed into balls or patties and deep fried for a texture that’s crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, sort of like a fritter. It’s a classic Middle Eastern and Mediterranean recipe that’s enjoyed as street food and often served up as part of mezze (a group of small meals)..

One minute I will take my cooking set. Ha I got it. Now let’s start making the recipe. First soak your dried chick peas overnight for at least 8-12 hours. Note that the chick peas will triple in size so cover them with plenty of water. Then drain and rinse them. Add the chickpeas, onion, parsley, cilantro, garlic, green pepper and spices to the food processor. I prefer chopping up the onion, herbs and pepper before adding. Pulse the food processor but do not blend completely. Add the chick pea flour and baking soda. Stir it nicely until its fully combined and cover with plastic wrap or a lid. Place the bowl in the fridge. Cool the falafel mixture for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Shape the falafel either round or flatter. You can do this by your hand, with a cookie scoop or a falafel scoop which is available in markets. Flatter shapes are better if you plan to do a pan fry or baking..
