Introduction. Welcome to the INSTRUCTOR-LED ONLINE SECURITY GUARD TRAINING PROGRAM. Over the next phase you will develop the knowledge and skills required of a security professional. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be well-prepared to write the provincial licensing exam. You will also be ready to take on a role in the security field. This course has been designed to provide you with an interactive learning experience. Hence, in this course, you will participate in online lectures, group discussions, visual transcripts, and quizzes. The more you engage with the instructional process, the more you will gain..

This course is delivered in eleven modules; each module deals with specific topic areas and there are learning outcomes associated with each. The law says that you must receive 40 hours of training including First Aid/CPR. This course covers all the important areas needed for basic training. It was designed to help you pass the provincial exam. To receive a certificate and/or reference number indicating successful completion of this course, you must attend all sessions of this training and must acquire a percentage of at least 80% in each quiz..

After that you will be eligible to write the provincial licensing exam. Use the opportunities for practice and feedback in this course to develop your skills well before you need to use them. On the completion of an accumulative percentage of no less than 80%, including First Aid/CPR training (received by a certified training entity) you are eligible to obtain your Course Completion Number. After that you will be eligible to write the provincial licensing exam.

First Aid Training. To qualify for your licence, you must also study and obtain Emergency Level First Aid/CPR Certification (Level C). It must be provided by an accredited trainer such as: A St. John Ambulance certified instructor, A Red Cross certified instructor, A Code Eight division Emergmart Response Systems, instructor. A WSIB- Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (Ontario) approved first aid trainer We at Online Security Training provides (Lyceum Instructor by Code Eight division Emergmart Response Systems, Inc. –WSIB approved) first aid training. You must obtain your certification from an WSIB approved agency and submit a copy of the certification in order to successfully complete the training and be eligible for a Course Completion Number..

A learning journal is a collection of notes, observations, thoughts and other relevant materials built‐up over a period of time and maybe a result of a period of study, learning and/or working experience. Its purpose is to enhance your learning through the process of writing and thinking about your learning experiences. Your learning journal is personal to you and will reflect your personality, preferences and experiences..
