INTRODUCING MIDDLE SCHOOL LEARNERS TO JUKEBOX HITS THROUGH CONTEMPORARY MUSICAL THEATER WORKS.
INTRODUCTION.
The value of the first recital was to introduce the younger generation to their mother tongue by listening to the new list of Kapampangan folk songs that are seldom heard. The pedagogical approach by the researcher enabled them to learn folk songs and, eventually, make them learn their language and enjoy singing at the same time. The final recital is inspired by selected songs from various Filipino musicals. This is geared towards the middle school learners in the hope that they will be exposed to the different Filipino musical styles, the Original Pilipino Music (OPM), especially, and hoping that they will learn to appreciate the beauty and value of their own music..
