Gender Inequality in the Caribbean - MyBlackMatters

Gender inequality is the social process by which men and women are not treated as equals. The treatment may arise from distinctions regarding biology, psychology, or cultural norms. Some of these distinctions are empirically-grounded while others appear to be socially constructed .

Gender inequality also affects  non-binary  people. Studies show the different lived experiences of genders across many domains including education, life expectancy, personality, interests, family life, careers, and political affiliations. Gender inequality is experienced differently across different cultures

That is just some information about GENDER INEQUALITY. GENDER INEQUALITY is not just about WOMEN but also Men. Cause we can be Women and Men by ourselves. Anything is possible in your career if you have the right level of confidence and capability.  Men, Women even if you are part of LGBT.  We just want to have an equal opportunity in whatever type of work we want, to do this is quite an easy task but somehow it’s very complex.

We should start we the basic, three things that I think matter the most CONFIDENCE, CHILDCARE, and CAPABILITY.  So in the confidence, some women have owned the label of lacking confidence and we gave men the label of having too much confidence but I don’t believe that to be the case. In childcare, women don’t just become mothers people become parents. Capability women’s networks have popped up everywhere women in finance women in tech women in retail and they focus on capability so are we feeding a myth that women are less capable.

So Confidence, Childcare, and Capability somehow we’ve made all three a women’s issue but actually there in every person issue.

UNICEF says gender equality "means that women and men, and girls and boys, enjoy the same rights, resources, opportunities, and protections. It does not require that girls and boys, or women and men, be the same, or that they be treated exactly alike."
