[Audio] Introduction Welcome to Crenshaw Correctional Facility. This federal correctional facility is a medium to low security federal facility. This facility houses 600 beds for male inmates. This facility is located in Luverne Alabama. There are various rehabilitation and vocational programs for inmates such as healthy living programs Mental health programs and (GED Program). Our facility offers safety and various ways for individuals to see their mistakes and learn from them to be released into civilization..

[Audio] Physical Structure and Security Medium low level prison structure with specific security measures This facility was built in the year 1874 and was rebuilt in the year 2004 the new total space of this facility is 314000 square feet. [Audio] General Population The inmates in our facility are housed with bunk mates 2 inmates per room there are over 300 rooms in the facility. The low security inmate and medium security inmates are paired with other inmates in their cell..

[Audio] Elderly Inmates make up a small population of this facility which is only about 5% 10% elderly inmates are only house with other elderly inmates. They have a separate schedule and diet as well for every five elderly inmates there is O-N-E male nurse that is always accompanied by two officers while taking care of the elderly and distributing medication.

[Audio] EDUCATION Every week there are volunteer teachers who come in to teach High school equivalency programs to take the G-E-D this program helps inmates get a basic education while serving their sentence and helps with math and reading skills.

Some key ethical responsibilities include fair and equal treatment upholding the law and policies protecting inmate rights professionalism integrity/ honesty and preventing abuse and discrimination. An example of an ethical dilemma would be when a correctional officer witnesses a fellow officer using excessive force on an inmate during a confrontation.
