Perseus A500 VaporView – Functions & benefits. What is it? What does it provide? Optional feature (VaporView hardware and Vapor 3000 required) Vaporizer illumination Predicts anaesthesia agent measurement based on current fresh-gas flow and composition Provides „What-if“ function when fresh-gas flow is changed Clinical benefits Easier identification of potential alarm causes related to volatile agents Better perception of the current state of drug delivery and concentrations Better projection of future states Better adjustment of vaporizer settings to fulfil the individual patient’s needs.

Scene 29 (10m 4s)

It is the GE way to performing target-controlled agent dosing It monitors the patient et Oxygen and et AA values constantly and automatically adjusts the gas delivery and total flow to achieve and maintain the set target end tidal Oxygen (etO2) and end tidal anaesthetic agent (etAA) values.

Scene 32 (11m 26s)

32. GE Aisys CS2 Strength & Weaknesses. Modern workstation approach (combination with CARESCAPE monitors) Standardized UI (ventilator + monitoring) 15’’ color touch display etControl option ecoFLOW for low flow anesthesia Automated lung recruitment procedures Table top design (central brake, movable display arm, large writing tray, 4 drawers) “Quick Picks” (pre-configuration of FGF & FiO2 settings) Sophisticated ventilation modes VG (= “AutoFlow”) additional to VCV, PCV, PCV-VG, SIMV, PSV and CPAP Flexible in pricing and service contracts.

Scene 33 (12m 8s)

A series: FDA Approved. 33. Mindray: A8 & A9. Eli Oyi-.

Scene 34 (12m 30s)

A8 uses traditional vaporizers. Disadvantages (against Perseus): No filling level low alarm No information about hand wheel position Agent prediction? No vaporizer illumination.

Scene 35 (13m 0s)

Disadvantages: In case of leakages, driving gas goes directly to the patient, risk of awareness Large compressed volume, long distance from flow control valve to patient (bad reaction time) No fresh gas decoupling (press O2-flush to demonstrate) Requires oxygen (at least amount of MV), critical when oxygen supply goes down), launching this device in Covid-19 pandemic seems cynical.

Scene 36 (13m 32s)

Counter argumentation: Perseus A500 and Zeus IE offer recruitment maneuvers with a user-friendly interface including analysis support In addition to one-step and multi-step maneuvers, with Perseus A500 also insp. / exp. Hold can be chosen Is it helpful / safe to schedule recruitment maneuvers and have them carried out automatically? Patient safety? Settings via the number pad are time-consuming and complicated, and many individual settings are necessary. It is unclear to what extent A8 / A9 offers support in evaluating the maneuvers.

Scene 37 (14m 9s)

Counter-argument: What about patient safety? How does the security concept work? Security is crucial (see GE case with 24% Desflurane in Singapore with Aisys etControl. How low does it flow and how fast can the flow be reduced? Mindray claims to go down to 300 ml/min but all screenshots of their marketing material show 700 ml/min (see right). ACA has several limitations: ACA does not work in Man/Spon When FiO2-low or FiO2-high alarms occur, then ACA goes to high flow Dosage stops when dosing modules are refilled  ACA seems similar to etControl of GE and Getinge but Zeus IE is the only device in the market which offers closed system anesthesia.(minimize costs and environmental footprint).

Scene 38 (14m 56s)
