[Virtual Presenter] Hi, My name is Oussama Sghir and I am going to present my solution for stake holders Movers and Shakers.
[Audio] In this slide there will be all the costs for the whole Project. Budget is 250k and each one of the costs vary. The budget for this project amounts to £250,000. The company can pay in two ways, monthly or yearly, best for them is to pay monthly. The cost for internet access data on mobile phones (5G) amounts to £45. All of the trucks amount to 130, so annually the price would be the total cost of £70,200, calculated by multiplying the price of 130 trucks and each has to have £45 so £5,850, then multiply the total cost by 12 to find the total price of how much data would cost for the company annually. To make sure all the drivers are safe while driving, the company should often check the tires' pressure of the truck. There are guages or inflators, I would recommend a tire pressure gauge since its agood quality one and trustworthy towards efficiency. The problem is they amount to £121 each. With 130 trucks, the toal price of the tire pressure machines go for £15,730. Depending on the weather truck drivers must always have access to a bunch of winter maintenance items (Ice scraper, Extendable snow brush, Squeegee, Tire chains, Square-point shovel and Anti-freeze), the price for it is £304 each truck. For the 130 trucks, the total amounts to £39,520. To prevent incidents during the journey, truck drivers must have sensors installed on all the sides of the vehicles. It will help the drivers have an eye access to blind spots all around the vehicle. Price for front and rear sensor is £79.99, side camera cost £49.99. For the toal of 130 trucks, the total price of front and behind sensors amounts to £10,398.70, and for the side sensors is £6,498.70. So the total si going to be £16,897.40. The smartphone used on the trucks must be compatible for all the tools needed in the trucks. I would recommend an iPhone X coming with a charger suitable to the vehicle. The costs for the mobile phone amounts to £239.99, so in total for all the 130 trucks is £31,198.70. I chose this phone because it has the same speed as other phones with higher price and it has a large battery life for long distances. It also charges quickly allowing it to be be used at any time. For the phones to be used for the business purposes we need to develop and install the app. The costs for it amounts to £60,000. It only costs 60k because it contains only crucial functions needed for the truck drivers to do the job. It could be upgraded in the future when new functions are required. The installation of everything amounts to approximately £10,000. It will make sure that everything installed in the trucks works properly and with no mistakes. For the maintenance the price goes for £5000 annually to make sure everything is working throughout the years..
[Audio] In this slide I will talk about what risks Movers and Shakers will be facing regarding data security. Cybersecurity for truck drivers is very crucial because it has so many risks behind it like make sure to have GPS tracking systems that allows to set an alarm on if the truck goes on a road that has not been assigned. Communication between the company and the truck drivers should be regular by making intervals and get in touch with each other. There could be a high risk of theft if the truck is not moving, so drivers must think as a team and have the cargo monitored all the time. Also the drivers are recommended to go under a special training against lorry thefts and make sure to always drive with awareness. No driver is allowed to take home any of the load. If stop is needed, it must be in a well monitored area or a secure place. If drivers the to stop for any circumstances, trucks must always be tail to tail, or against a building. This will help prevent the rear doors from being opened. To help prevent this, all of the employees need to be trained to recognized phishing emails and make sure they generate very strong passwords. All the emails that contains important information must be encrypted. Antiviruses and malware programs for softwares and OS must be comprehensively used. Software updates are recommended regularly and creation of backups are a must(could use a cloud-based system), if by any chnace the company gets hacks always have in hand a disaster recovery plans. Checking on the IT department is one of the last things that must be done, and if necessary update it..
[Audio] In this slide I will explain the Legal constraints, Technological limits and the Power Needs. Legal constraints: Tracking a lorry and its driver may or may not be legal depending on the country and its regulations. This is due to the fact that tracking a car and its driver requires the collecting and processing of personal information, which is governed by privacy laws and regulations. In some countries, particular procedures for collecting and using this information, such as seeking explicit consent from the driver or providing notice of the tracking, may be required. Furthermore, certain countries may limit the extent to which a corporation can follow the driver's location or personal information, such as prohibiting the use of tracking devices during non-working hours or limiting the data retention time. Technological limits: There are various technological constraints that could impede the adoption of a lorry and driver tracking system. One of the most significant factors to consider is signal coverage areas, which can have an impact on the accuracy and reliability of tracking data. If the tracking device is dependent on cellular network coverage, for example, there may be locations where the signal is weak or nonexistent, resulting in gaps in the tracking data. Compatibility between competing devices may also be an issue, especially if the company utilises multiple tracking devices or if the drivers are compelled to use their own devices. Finally, the usage of cutting-edge technology may have security and privacy consequences, as these devices may be more vulnerable to hacking or may collect more sensitive data than older, less sophisticated devices. Power needs: The type of tracking device employed may affect power requirements, which may affect the practicality and effectiveness of tracking a vehicle and its driver over time. A passive tracking device, for example, that depends on satellite signals to deliver location data may consume less power than an active one that constantly pings cellular towers. A passive device, on the other hand, may not provide real-time data and may necessitate more work to retrieve and analyse the collected data. Furthermore, a battery-powered device may necessitate periodic charging, which may have an impact on the overall efficacy of the monitoring system if the battery dies or the gadget is not properly charged..
[Audio] In this slide I will explain how staff training will be implemented. When new equipment and software are introduced into the workplace, it is critical to provide training to employees to ensure the efficient operation of the organisation. In this situation, both drivers and head office personnel must be instructed on how to use the new tracking equipment and software, which has been tailored to the company's specific requirements. Drivers must be fluent in both spoken and written English because paperwork must be completed and submitted at the end of each shift. They will be provided a manual for the new equipment as well as a phone number to call for support if any problems develop. Head office personnel must be trained on how to track routes and deliveries, as well as have strong communication skills because they will be fielding calls from drivers and suppliers and documenting pertinent information. They must be fluent in both written and spoken English. In the event of any complaints or technical concerns, the staff will be in charge of managing the application to guarantee it functions properly. Even the receptionist will need to be able to transfer calls to different departments and communicate effectively. The mechanic who will work on the HGV trucks must be qualified and experienced in their operation. They will be shown where to find equipment and power tools, as well as safety precautions including designated smoking areas and fire exits. One of the issues that the business may experience is connection instability, such as buffering, disconnection, and signal issues, which can cause delays and lost revenue, particularly in rural locations where steady connections are not prevalent. Despite the cost of installing all 130 trucks, the adoption of satellite boosters can greatly increase productivity and revenue for the company..
