He is sort out by Joe Turner ( police officers) with their investigation hounds but , by the time they pick up Long John’s scent , ’’ He was long gone ’’. For Noah he’s chased by the southern police officers with their dogs and whenever he’s captured as a prisoner , Noah starts singing and doubling as an effort to escape the reality . The song symbolises the Southern police officers as Noah was their victim and the only way he could rebel against them was through a song ..
