Scene 1 (0s)

[Audio] How to Minimize the Effect of Climate Change Presented by Shina Joy Terrobeeas.

Scene 2 (13s)

[Audio] What is Climate Change? Climate change refers to changes in average weather patterns. Changes in normal climatic conditions can be attributed to climate change. These changes cause heavy storms, heat waves, floods, melting glaciers, and other natural disasters. Our planet is undergoing significant climate change, which is affecting the livelihoods of people and other living things. One aspect of climate change is global warming. Carbon dioxide and greenhouse gases are released into the atmosphere as a result of these factors..

Scene 3 (52s)

[Audio] Factors that Affect Climate Change Geological Processes Natural phenomena such as volcano eruptions, tsunamis, and earthquakes frequently cause significant changes in the composition of the atmosphere ( Columbia University). When a volcano erupts, for example, it spews massive amounts of ash into the atmosphere. Water, carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, and pulverized rock make up ash. If the natural phenomenon is powerful enough, the consequences can be long-term changes in the atmosphere. Land Use Change Human activity would most likely fall under the category of land use change. It is the conversion of land, such as a rainforest, for a new purpose, such as agriculture. Transportation and urbanization are two other examples. Although the destruction of rainforests and carbon emissions from automobiles can cause a significant amount of gas to accumulate in the atmosphere, there is another aspect of land use that is frequently overlooked as a major contributor to global warming. Surprisingly, the cow farming industry contributes significantly to climate change ( TimeForChange). Because of these plants, the composition of methane (a byproduct of digestion in cow stomachs) in the air is increasing at an alarming rate. Land Cover Modifications Land-cover changes can be summarized as ecosystem degradation. Industrial factories are notorious for dumping carbon into the atmosphere, but their impact on ecosystems nearby has an equally negative impact on the atmosphere ( Intergovernmental Panel of Climate Change). Toxic wastes from factories contaminate ecosystems that are in a precarious balance with nature. When an extreme change in environment enters an ecosystem, it affects organisms in a variety of ways. Often, the total biomass of the ecosystem decreases, which means fewer places for carbon fixation, which helps to keep carbon levels in the atmosphere under control. Invasive Species Invasive species are a huge problem for ecosystem stability, just as toxic waste from factories can have negative effects on ecosystems, changing the composition of the atmosphere ( Climate). When a new species is introduced into an environment, it can have disastrous consequences. The overall diversity of the environment can result in more resource competition. This usually leads to a reduction in total biomass in the ecosystem, lowering the amount of carbon fixation that protects our atmosphere. Pollution changes to an ecosystem have disastrous consequences for the environment. The same mechanism can be used by pollution to alter the composition of the air ( National Geographic). Pollution in US ecosystems has more than doubled in the last 50 years. This does not even take into account the massive amounts of pollution released into the atmosphere by aerosol cans and waste management plant fires. This addition to the air not only creates a heat blanket, but it also makes the environment uninhabitable for humans to live in. The onset of this issue can be seen in the rise in asthma cases in industrial areas..

Scene 4 (4m 29s)

[Audio] Importance of saving mother nature Because our planet is the only one with the ability to sustain life, it is becoming increasingly important to instill a sense of urgency about the need to protect our mother earth from all types of planet-harming activities. Our mother earth must be saved because our survival is entirely dependent on her. It is our duty to raise awareness about the importance of saving our mother earth. Earth has all of the resources needed to support both living and non-living things. Our planet-harming activities are causing irreversible environmental damage, which is causing the planet's condition to deteriorate. We can improve our well-being by taking care of this planet, as a healthy environment will aid in improving the quality of our lives. It is our collective responsibility to raise public awareness about our mother earth's well-being. People all over the world should recognize the importance of a cleaner and greener environment. We must all take responsibility and make significant efforts to protect our mother earth from harmful activities..

Scene 5 (5m 41s)

[Audio] How To Prevent Climate Change Make policies and agreements on climate change Implements projects on clean energy Create social awareness on climate change Prohibit deforestration and cutting down trees.

Scene 6 (6m 1s)

[Audio] Conduct capacity building programs on climate change Keep the surroundings clean Avoid use of chemical fertilizers. Reduce wastage of water and other natural resources..

Scene 7 (6m 17s)

[Audio] Protect the flora and the fauna. Buy energy efficient products and appliances. Respect the environment and protect its resources. Reduce the consumption of energy..

Scene 8 (6m 32s)

[Audio] Plant more trees in the neighborhood and surrounding areas..

Scene 9 (6m 43s)

[Audio] We are dumping carbon dioxide into the atmosphere at a rate the earth hasn't seen since the great climate catastrophes of the past. The ones that led to mass extinctions. We just can't seem to break out addiction to the kinds of fuel that will bring back the climate last seen by the dinosaurs, a climate that will drown our coastal cities and wreak havoc on the environment and our ability to feed ourselves. All the while, the glorious sun pours immaculate, free energy down upon us, more than we will ever need. Why can't we summon the ingenuity and courage of the generations that came before us? The dinosaurs never saw that asteroid coming. What's our excuse?.

Scene 10 (7m 29s)
