Hands coming together in circle. Communication in a Diverse Workplace.
Why I selected Communication in a Diverse workplace? George Bernard Shaw said: “The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.” Organizations place valuable resources towards diversity and communications because a breakdown in communication equal a breakdown in the organization. It effects every aspect of any organization, including the Military. Competitive advantages, characteristics such as culture, ethnicity, class, language, and hobbies are attributes that lead to thinking outside the box. Employees that share generational stories will directly influence their perspectives on the world around them..

People in a meeting. Conclusion. This research has defined diversity and discussed avenues for a business to gain a competitive advantage while making all employees feel heard and valued. Communication, arguably an organization's accurate measure of success, is vital in understanding cross-cultural management. Whether leadership is communicating policy changes, discussing natural disasters, or listening to grievances and concerns of employees, effective communication is a critical issue in ineffective management. To be successful, organizations should have comprehensive policies and strategies for communicating with their constituencies, employees, stakeholders, and the community at large. The research also establishes that studies have found advantages and disadvantages to having a diverse organization. Some of the adverse effects within an organization are that diversity can introduce complexity and confusion into trouble-solving groups (White, 1999)..
