As healthcare professionals it’s crucial that we understand the cultural viewpoints of our patients and clients. This not only helps us provide better care but also allows us to build stronger relationships with our clients. In this session we’ll be looking at the different types of biases such as confirmation bias availability bias and hindsight bias. We’ll also be discussing the impact of cultural background on our beliefs and attitudes and how this can influence our interactions with patients and clients from different backgrounds. We’ll be using a variety of teaching methods including group discussions case studies and presentations to help you better understand these concepts.
