Social science teaches us about the world outside our direct experience and may help us understand how our own society works from the causes of unemployment to what promotes economic progress, to how and why people vote and what makes people happy. It offers critical information to governments and policymakers, as well as local governments, non-governmental organizations, and others. -Social Science has three categories, which are Anthropology, Sociology and Political Science..

4. SOCIALIZATION. 4. SOCIALIZATION. - Socialization is the lifetime process through which people learn the values and conventions of a particular society. Socialization and socializing are not the same thing. Socializing is the act of mixing socially with others (for example, family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers), whereas socialization is a process that may involve socializing as one part, but is a more complex, multi-faceted, and formative collection of interaction experiences. It is also an adaptive lifelong learning process, because society is continuously changing and we may find ourselves in new situations, such as a new work with different norms and beliefs, or in a different familial position, such as parent or caretaker to an elderly relative..

4. SOCIALIZATION. EFFECTS OF SOCIALIZATION. Here are some significant advantages of being socially active : A stronger feeling of belonging - In many circumstances, your loved one just wants to know that they are loved and wanted. They can achieve this by being socially involved in a nearby senior living community . Improved physical health - Your mental state is strongly tied to your physical state. Someone who is socially engaged and feels needed, loved, and accepted is more likely to be mobile and attentive . Enhanced mental acuity — Studies constantly show that those who engage in active social engagement may keep their mental agility for a longer amount of time. Seniors that are socially active in a senior living community have greater motor skills and attention, as well as a better mood. An attitude of accountability - Knowing that someone is counting on you keeps the mind engaged. As elders get older, a lack of accountability can lead to a lax attitude toward timetables and deadlines. Being socially involved allows accountability to be restored, re-establishing a feeling of personal duty . Having a purpose - We all want a purpose in life, and we all want someone to share it with, someone to mourn with, and someone to rejoice with..
