SLIDE 1. CHRISTIAN MORALITY: GENERAL MORALS.
Untitled. FREEDOM AND MORAL ACT. LESSON 2.
INTRODUCTION 2. INTRODUCTION. The love of God and neighbor is the perfect motivation for a Christian to live a moral life in Christ, while fear of the consequences of immoral actions is imperfect. However, both incentives are grounded in a belief in the moral truths revealed by Christ and taught by the Church. Even for the most devout believer, the moral life is always a struggle. Even the greatest saints of history had to deal with the temptation to sin. As Christians, we find strength for that struggle through prayer and the grace of the sacraments, particularly the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Eucharist. Although our free will and commitment to the moral law empower us to make good moral choices, the temptation remains a formidable adversary that can weaken us and cause us to sin through poor moral decisions..
