[Audio] Hi everyone, my name is Cooper and I'm here to show you around the Definitions of Metrics & Attributes Knowledge site. You might be asking yourself, "what is the Definitions of Metrics and Attributes Knowledge site"? It's an internal site that was created as a reference guide for the Metrics and Attributes available within MicroStrategy. It provides descriptions, formulas, examples, and links to dashboards where you can find the metric or attribute. Let's get started!.

Scene 2 (33s)

[Audio] From the " Work Quick links" at the bottom of the Source home page, you can navigate to Co-op Analytics. Here, you can access the Knowledge Site through the Business Intelligence navigation bar on the left-hand side of the screen by clicking on the " Definitions of Metrics and Attributes" link..

Scene 3 (56s)

[Audio] Alternatively, you can access the same site by navigating to the Training and Support site through Co-op Analytics and clicking on the link..

Scene 4 (1m 23s)

[Audio] After clicking on the link, you will be redirected to the Definitions of Metrics and Attributes Knowledge site. You will notice that this site has similar working field to google..

[Audio] There are three different ways to search for a Metric or Attribute. The first way is to type what you are looking for in the search box and hit enter. Like google when you hit enter the site will retrieve all relevant results. You can then choose the option that best suits your needs..

Scene 6 (2m 10s)

[Audio] The second way is going to the browse by category and clicking on it. You will notice that three boxes appear for Metrics, Attributes and General Info. Each of the boxes contains the main groups of Metrics and Attributes as well as General Info. When you click on one of the options it will list all the metrics or attributes available within that category..

Scene 7 (2m 36s)

[Audio] The third option to find a Metric or Attribute is starting from the page tree on the left-hand side. When you click on the drop-down arrow beside definition categories and select either metrics or attributes you will have the option to choose one of the sub-categories. From here you can select the metric or attribute that is of interest..

Scene 8 (2m 59s)

[Audio] Now that we know how to find our metrics and attributes, let's go into more detail on the metrics and attributes themselves. Let's start by searching for the " Month in Year" Attribute in the search box and hitting enter. All Attribute pages include the name of the attribute at the top, a brief description, any special notes or exceptions, examples (if applicable) as well as a link to support..

Scene 9 (3m 30s)

[Audio] Finally, we will look at a Metric. Let's navigate to the " Browse by Category" section and select Claims. From here, we can select the Base Direct Incurred Losses Metric. This page includes the owner of the metric (which is applicable if the metric is OVOT), the definition, the intent of the metric, the formula used to calculate the metric (if applicable), which dashboards use this metric on Co-op Analytics, other notes and comments such as exclusions, examples, the project in which the metric lives, the associated object layer or external database, any other related articles as well as a link for additional support. Both the Attribute and Metric pages contain a wealth of Knowledge and is an excellent resource for new and existing MicroStrategy users..
