[Audio] Table of contents Storyline Reason why we opted for this project Synopsis of the story POP Quiz Our team Thank you..

Scene 3 (25s)

[Audio] 1. Reason why we opted for this project Our proposition is to make an animation. The purpose of this thought is that children shows are widely popular and watched by individuals of all ages and they are dependably pertinent. For example SpongeBob Squarepant was created in 1999 and yet it remains as one of the most memorable cartoon. Everyone gravitates towards watching cartoons in their free time as a form of entertainment. So why don’t we mix entertainment with education? Cartoon are easily notable due to illustrations which helps the brain to process and retain information better than text. Moreover cartoon can allow complex concepts to be simplified with animation..

Scene 4 (1m 14s)

[Audio] To support this statement; a test was conducted in Turkey on December,2022 by two students: Önder Eryilmaz and Kayhan Bozgün. The test subject was to observe the effect of cartoons on primary students academic learning. Statistics shows that when the children were taught in the classroom using traditional method, it resulted in lack of participation and involvement in class from students. However when the students were taught using cartoon, it aroused curiosity in students; who were eager with anticipation for the lesson with their visual content, which enriches their imagination and creates a feeling of comfort. Henceforth this made the lesson interactive and easier to understand..

Scene 5 (2m 2s)

[Audio] 2. Synopsis Milo is a curious child who came across some information regarding the Eclipse. After hearing about the phenomenon a few times, he has become increasingly inquisitive and has asked those around him numerous questions about it. However, none of the answers he has received have been satisfactory. One night, in his dream, he is visited by Astro, a guardian of the universe, who transports him to space, where he is able to provide answers to all of his inquiries..

Scene 7 (2m 43s)

[Audio] *On a cozy evening in the Iftikar family house, located in the capital city of Pakistan; Islamabad, stood a young boy Milo. He was attentively watching the TV with his bewildered eyes as the news anchor went on talking about the upcoming eclipse.* NEWS : On 29th October, 2023. A partial lunar eclipse will be spotted in Islamabad. It is predicted that the phenomena would last for approximately 4 hours and 25 minutes. Numerous places around the world; including Australia, Europe, North and South of America will also experience this event. Milo: Baba, what is an eclipse? Iftikar: Child it is when the sun, earth and moon align together..

Scene 8 (3m 39s)

[Audio] Milo: When does that happens? How do they align? Why don’t we see them every day, do the three object not align daily? And- Iftikar: Hold your horses Milo, son I don’t know about all the why of it. And it’s getting quite late how about you go to bed now and we’ll talk in the morning. Milo: But baba- Iftikar: Milo don’t argue. Now go to bed, goodnight. Milo: Good night baba. Milo resigned to his room unsatisfied as his questions were left unanswered. While preparing for bed, Milo’s mind constantly wandered off to his queries. After tossing and turning sleep finally took over Milo, taking him off to his dream world..

Scene 9 (4m 38s)

[Audio] *In his dream, Milo was standing in front of a door. He grabbed the door lever and pushed the door open* Milo: Hellooo? Is anyone here? *Suddenly a robotic creature appears in front of him* Milo: Who are you? Robot: Hello there Milo. My name is Astro and I’m one of the many guardians of the universe. Milo: Wow, but why are you here though? Astro: I’m here to answer all your questions regarding the eclipse. Milo: How will you do that? Astro: With the help of the portal we’ll travel to the space where I will explain to you about the eclipse..

Scene 10 (5m 32s)

[Audio] Milo: How can I leave with you, mama and Baba warned me not to go off with a stranger. Astro: Dear Milo I exist within your dream world only, and I’m your friend. Milo: The space is very faaar away, mama would be worried about me going so far. Astro: Like I said I exist within your dream world, so we won’t be actually going there. Do you want to experience a whole new place? Milo: Hmmm, I do want to. Astro: Then follow me along the portal. *Milo and Astro enters the space through the portal.* Milo: Woahhh! I’m flying Mr. Astro, I can fly! Is it one of your magic power? And why is it soooo dark? And, and-.

Scene 11 (6m 34s)

[Audio] Astro: Calm down buddy, you aren’t flying due to any magic power it’s all due to the lack of gravity in space which causes the objects in space to float. As for the cause of darkness, it is due to the lack of atmosphere (an area where air or gas is present) the sunlight cannot be scattered throughout the space. Hence it travels in a straight line, lighting up the surface of the planet facing it. Milo: Wow Mr. Astro you truly have knowledge regarding the space I thought you were fooling me. Astro: …now Milo, how about you ask me the question which made you so restless. Milo: How does an eclipse occur, Mr. Astro? Astro: An eclipse occurs when one celestial object such as the moon or planet moves into the shadow of another celestial object. Now how do we know which object moves into whose shadow? To understand this we need to dive a little bit more into depth about the two different eclipses; Solar and Lunar.

Scene 13 (8m 29s)

[Audio] Differences between Solar and Lunar eclipse Lunar Solar A solar eclipse occurs when the moon come in between the Earth and the sun. It occurs once in 18 months. It lasts for about 5-7 minutes. It is witnessed in a few places. It occurs during the daytime. The solar eclipse happens in the new moon phase If you look directly, then there are high chances of losing vision as it damages the retina. A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth come in between the sun and the moon. It occurs twice a year. It lasts for an hour. It is witnessed in many places. It occurs during nighttime. When the moon is in its full moon phase, a lunar eclipse happens. Witnessing a lunar eclipse with bare eyes is harmless as it does not cause any damage to the eye.

Scene 14 (9m 33s)

[Audio] Milo: Why doesn’t a solar eclipse happen so often? Astro: You asked a very good question, Milo. You see the solar eclipse takes place when the moon comes in between the Sun and Earth, however, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll always cast its shadow on Earth. The moon only casts a shadow on the Earth when it's tilted towards a specific angle degree (5). This causes sudden darkness during the daylight. Also, the solar eclipse is not experienced by everyone; because the moon as compared to Earth is very small in size. So the shadow cast by the moon would be on a very small surface of the Earth, allowing only a few people to experience it; that also if they happen to be on the sunny side of the Earth and in the pathway of the moon. Although a solar eclipse is a rare treat, in the case of a lunar eclipse it’s not the same. One thing about the lunar eclipse is that it’s a rare treat because it doesn’t happen every month. But unlike solar, lunar eclipse can be witnessed by numerous people who live on the night side of the Earth during the event..

Scene 15 (10m 49s)

[Audio] Milo Is there a specific month or time where the eclipse happens or does the event happen randomly throughout the year? Astro: Yes, Milo, there is a period where the chances of eclipse occurrence are high, it's called the eclipse season. Eclipse season is a period that occurs every six months (or twice a year) in which eclipse whether lunar or solar occurs. At least two or three eclipses occur every season in any order It is the time when the sun (from Earth’s perspective) is close enough to one of the moon's nodes to allow an eclipse to occur. During the season whenever there is a full moon or new moon; the lunar and solar eclipse will happen respectively. Milo: Hmm, why are the seasons six months apart? Astro: The moon’s orbital is tilted which changes its placement of shadows. Sometimes the shadow is too high and sometimes its too low. However at a specific time, the lunar nodes - the line where the moon’s orbital plane intersects with earths orbital plane – aligns with the sun and the Earth..

Scene 16 (12m 1s)

[Audio] Astro: Do you have any other questions, Milo? Milo: Yes, how did the scientist know about when and where the eclipse will occur? Astro: NASA uses a highly advanced form of an ancient technique – pattern recognition. Using some 38,000 repeating mathematical terms, NASA can predict both solar and lunar eclipses for 1,000 years into the future. *Astro summons the portal* Astro: Now it’s time for our farewell Milo. Milo: But will we meet again Mr. Astro? Astro: Don’t worry Milo, we’ll always meet again whenever you have questions about the space. Who knows maybe I’ll take you on an adventure the next time..
