Scene 1 (0s)

Academic Growth And Personal Growth Presentation.

Scene 2 (7s)

Introduction. I’m Ndimphiwe Mamfengu I’m currently doing my first year Diploma in Management extended program. In this Presentation I will be illustrating the way I have managed to grow personally and academically as a first year student in Nelson Mandela University I’m going to reflect on the things I have learned so far as a first year student. I’ll be giving out an explanation on how I’ve managed to modify and became more knowledgeable..

Scene 3 (27s)

Academic growth. As this is my first academic year I’ve learnt the sort of a student I am and the trait that I possess as a student. The best way for me to study is reading also being able to visualise what I’ve learnt and I have managed to better my grades because at first I was struggling and also I’m enjoying the lessons that we’re given by the lecturers and at last but not least I’ve became more quick to understand the lessons. I Also learnt things like Planning and scheduling, Problem solving understanding also making sure that I note down everything I’ve learned in that particular lecture..

Scene 4 (54s)

Planning and scheduling. At first I struggled a lot academically because I wasn’t managing time, making timetables for my studies sometimes I’ll even forget that I have work until past due so I decided to plan and schedule my work so I created a timetable and set up reminders for assignments due dates and also test dates and so far that was useful because now my work is scheduled and planned properly. Truly speaking from first semester I was lazy, and I would do most of my assignment the day they are due and that affected my grades because I ended up passing some of modules by 50% of which I can do more that and ever since I’ve started planning my work I’ve to reach 70% in some of my modules and keeping my focus at all cost.

Scene 5 (1m 26s)

Problem solving. Coming to university I was never a quick person to solve a problem and that became a challenge for me because I had to become a critical thinker so I had to dig deeper into myself, push myself into the limits that I thought I’d never reach so that made a drastic change in my academics because I became eager to know more and it became easy for to solve a problem..

Scene 6 (1m 44s)

understanding. At first it was hard to understand something that is being explained to me because in order for me to understand I need to see it for example writing down notes and create examples that’s how I can understand the lecture and I’ve to understand some modules since we’re doing them online and I can write down my own notes the way I understand them.

Scene 7 (2m 2s)

Personal growth. This academic year was never easy on me as a first year university student because I became exposed into difficultness of living, the way life it is but I thank God that I’ve made it through because I had to toughen up and grow, be confident in everything I do and be alive. I never knew what is stress is up until I came to university but I never let stress get in my way but it might have affected my school work at first but all I can confidently is that I rose above it because I always kept a positive mentality..

Scene 8 (2m 27s)

Stress management. Wood human figure. What I learnt this year is that stress will always be here but it depends on you as human being that you going to let that mess you up or you’ll just find a solution to conquer what stresses you So conquering the stresses that I came across with this academic year I always kept a positive mind, anytime I’ll feel stressed I’ll listen to my music and rest the other thing that also helped is that I played sport to keep myself out of the negative environment and take off my mind on certain things.

Scene 9 (2m 52s)

POSITIVE MINDSET. Close up image of a hand touching flowers.

Scene 10 (3m 10s)

Being confident. Like every person that comes in an environment where you know nobody you become shy, quiet but I always make sure that in everything I’m confident in doing it I don’t let someone look down on me I focused on what I came to do in here meaning my studies and socialise with who are in my calibre..

Scene 11 (3m 27s)

savings. Old wrinkled hands with some coins. Growing I never been taught about saving my money so I’ve eating money recklessly and that’s not good for a young person I started opening an account for my savings on the bank so that by the end of the year I can something to help at home or buy myself something special and I also managed to make groceries for myself because my parents were the ones who always made groceries.

Scene 12 (3m 48s)

Conclusion. An open book and on top are eyeglasses and pen.
