Differentiated instruction is molding and shifting instruction given to students based on their individual needs. Often times differentiated instruction may look like three groups working on the same topic but in different ways.

Scene 3

When teaching some examples of differentiated instruction are: Some students work well with groups because they need extra peer support  Other students might need hands on activity and a lot of visuals in order to learn better While other students need a lot of structure, step by step and reinforcements that will aid in their learning of the activity.

“ If a child can’t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn.”

Scene 5

Students may require differentiated instruction. Not only because of their learning development but other factors that may cause for differentiated instruction as well. Students come from different educational backgrounds, some have different attention spans, different language abilities or even cultural backgrounds.

Scene 6

Differentiated instruction is important because it gives students the opportunity to learn the way they learn best. Therefore showing the best results in their education and overall academic development

A study published by Procedia Social and Behavioral Sciences found that students’ learning outcomes significantly improve when teachers use differentiated content that responds to a student’s learning preferences

Scene 8

As teachers it is our job to give students the tools needed to strengthen their growth in academic areas. Differentiated instruction allows teachers to accommodating lessons plans and activities to best assist students and their needs.
