[Audio] An Analysis of High School musical 2 “I gotta go my own way” By: Nysaiah Foote.
[Audio] Context So, in this scene of the movie, it is officially summer and Troy, Gabriella, and the rest of the East High Wildcats go work at this place thinking it was going to be the time of their lives. Troy and Gabriella were having issues up tot this point because Gabriella was wanting more attention from Troy, but Troy kept getting distracted by basketball because he was starting to get recruited by University of Albuquerque. Troy also was bailing on her and his friends, and they were feeling abandoned by him and Troy kept forgetting plans that he would have with her so it boiled up to a point where she met with him and told him she couldn’t do it anymore. In this song you see her pouring out her feelings of how everything transpired this summer, saying that it’s time for them to go their separate ways, that its time for them to focus on their own future but Troy is fighting it wanting to save the last of their relationship, but eventually Gabriella leaves the Job (for the time being).
