Scene 1 (0s)

[Audio] This Medication Brief will give a short explanation of the drug Trammadol ( and why it may be prescribed for your companion)..

Scene 2 (12s)

[Audio] Trammadol, is used to treat moderately severe pain and is sold under several brand names. It is an synthetic opioid pain medication and a serotonin–norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI). Tramadol works by preventing the reabsorption of serotonin and norepinephrine in the pre-synaptic cleft of the neuron which helps mask the symptoms of pain to the brain. When given by mouth in an immediate-release formulation, the onset of pain relief usually begins within an hour..

Scene 3 (48s)

[Audio] Your veterinarian might prescribe trammadol if your dog has any of the following causes of pain: (Post-operative pain) (Osteoarthritis) ( Nonsurgical intervertebral disc disease) (Cancer) (Laimeness) (General pain from an injury or another condition. Trammadol does not have the anti-inflammatory properties associated with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or treat the underlying cause of the pain. Instead, it alters the way the body perceives pain, giving the patient some relief. As a result, it's often used in conjunction with anti-inflammatory drugs, such as the carprofen (Rimmadyl), or as an additional pain management strategy for chronic conditions. Like most medications, trammadol has side effects. Most dogs tolerate tramadol well, as long as you properly follow the dosage instructions, but there are a few adverse reactions you should be aware of. Nauseam, Loss of appetite, Constipation, Drowsiness, Anxiety, Dizziness, Trimmors. These reactions, if the occur, may range in severity, but play it safe and call your veterinarian if your dog experiences any of these trammadol side effects. Trammadol requires a prescription and is a class 4 controlled substance. As tempting as it might be to pop your dog a pill from a human tramadol prescription, remember that doesages for dogs differ greatly from those for humans. Giving your dog trammadol outside of the guidance of a veterinarian could result in a trammadol overdose. Veterinarians calculate tramadol doesages based on weight, but they also consider other components of your dog's health, such as pre-existing conditions and liver values, and the cause of the pain itself. The doesage for chronic pain, for instance, might be different from the dosage used to treat acute pain. Trammadol can help manage your dog's pain levels and improve their quality of life..
