[Audio] The two film posters that I will be analysing today are the most common posters used for Harry potter and the prisoner Azkaban of and mean girls..

[Audio] Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Directed by Alfonso Cuarón, based on J.K. Rowling, July 8, 1999. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is a fantasy novel and the third instalment in the Harry Potter series. The book follows Harry Potter, a young wizard in his third year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Emma Watson and Rupert Grint. The poster you see here was heavily used to promote the film. Rules included in this poster are the movie title, main image, tagline and production blurb..

[Audio] This slide shows a detailed analysis of each poster's rules. We discussed how colors, fonts, images, scales, and text are used in each convention to indicate meaning. I've been thinking about how these indicate the genre of the film and how they represent the themes and ideas contained in the film..

[Audio] Here i have analyzed the overall layout of the Harry Potter poster. I wanted to come to a conclusion as to why the designer chose to put things where they should be. I thought about how these decisions would affect the poster's memory and how this would help the film's successful marketing..

[Audio] Here I gave my verdict on how effectively the poster showcased the fantasy genre, how well it portrayed the film's story, and how successful it was in promoting the film. We concluded that it works very well in all of these respects, mainly due to the colors, images, layout, and text used..

[Audio] Mean girls is a teen comedy movie that came out in 2004 directed Mark Waters. Mean girls stars Lindsey Lohan plays naive teenage girl navigates the social pyramid of a modern American high school after years of home-schooling her parents while studying in Africa. Mean girls was largely influenced by Rosalind Wiseman's 2002 book Queen Bees and Wannabes. The conventions this poster contains are the film's title, one main image, the names of the famous actors involved and a production blurb..

[Audio] This slide shows my very thorough analysis of each of the poster conventions. I would like to talk about how the poster uses colors and images to show meaning. I thought about the text, proportion and size to use when analyzing this poster. We talked about how these indicate a movie's genre and theme, and how that helps with promotion..

[Audio] This shows my analysis of the poster layout. I wondered why the poster designer chose to place things where they should be and to what scale. they also made the colour scheme very pink and "girly" and i thought about why they wanted the audience's eye to focus on those features..

[Audio] this shows my evaluation of the mean girls poster. I have made judgments on the validity of the rules and codes used to denote the genre, plot, and promotion of a film. After considering how the colours, text, layout, and imagery contributed to this, I concluded that this poster effectively represented the teen comedy genre. I also think that this poster benefited when advertising because of the large fonts and bright colours..
