How did the idea of organizing Children’s Media Festival came in mind? Today, the media, with its many types and channels, has a huge role to play in shaping the thinking of the child and the family and society, and in correcting moral attitudes. Given the articles and content that the media publishes to create interest, excitement, and many other things, it is appropriate to make the best use of these resources. Keeping in mind the importance of media, the head master thought that unlike other festivals (like food festival etc.) we can organize a media festival for children. H ead Master’s Conversation with Teachers In th beginning, Head Master Aasif Iqbal discussed the plan of Media Festival with his co-staff (Teachers). All the teachers offered their opinions acknowledging the i m p o r t a n c e o f M e d i a i n o u r d a y t o d a y l i f e. H e ad Ma s t e r ’s M e et i n g w i t h t h e m e m b e r s of P T A Head Master hold a meeting with the members of PTA and discussed the plan of Media Festival. He also explained the aims and objectives of the festival. Everyone liked the idea. They assured their participation and support in this occasion. Teachers of S.S.A. Urdu Primary School played a key role to make this event successful. All the teachers have been given different responsibilities and they handled them successfully. They prepared the students for different activities. Also they offered valuable advices which were very helpful to make this event successful..

All the parents and guardians welcomed this festival and followed the instructions given to them. They not only prepared their children for the different activities of the festival and but also participated in this event with great enthusiasm..

Students were lifeblood of this event. The desire of learning something new motivated them to participate in different activities of this festival. The word ‘Boom’ was new to them. For the fist time they knew about it. They prepared several interesting question to ask their teachers. They also made several slogans for this event. About 2500 students participated in Media Festival with full enthusiasm..

Local media played very important role to make this event successful. They participated this festival and covered this news in their channels and newspapers. This event was source of pride to the media. They spoke to the students, asked questions and their experiences about this new event. Parents and guardian also expressed their views to the media. The media congratulated the head master, teachers and students for this successful new event..

P r e s s C o n fe r en ce b y t h e S t u d e n t s A press conference was held by the students of class IV (B) in a very organized manner. In this conference they spoke to the head master Aasif Iqbal about their educational and social services. This initiative taken by the students was broadcasted by the local news c h a nn e l s a n d a pp r e c i a t e d . I n t e r vi e w of Te a c he r s Groups of students from different classes were made. These groups interviewed the t e ac h e r s i n a pr of e s si on a l m a n n er a n d d em on s t r a t ed th e i r a b i l i t i e s . Costume The highlight of the day was that all the students and teachers were in the costume of press reporters. M e d i a B oo m s To fulfill the role of a reporter, students made different media booms. This was the main attraction of this event. About 1500 students participated in boom making. Students were awarded for their creativity in boom making..

Prizes were given to the students who participated in different activities to encourage them..

B e fo r e t h e e v en t : Parents and the members of PTA were pre-informed about the Media Festival. Apart from this, printed flyers and hanbills were distributed to make this event more special. News was spread by means of different social media networks such as Whatsapp, Facebook, Youtube etc. A f t er t he e v e nt : News reporters participated in this event and covered the news on their respective channels with appreciation. The news was spread over Youtube channels. There were more 50000 views and likes for this event. Slogans: Head Master Aasif Iqbal prepared beautiful slogans for this event .
